Does anyone know if we’re any closer to players leaving? Would have thought Collins, Bidwell and one of Sheaf, Allen and Eccles would have moved but we’re a week and a half out from the season starting and as it stands don’t look any stronger than last year.

If we’re waiting for people to move before signing anymore are we in danger of targets going elsewhere.
I have a feeling BTA will be a last minute departure. I could see a Blackburn or Bristol staring the season slowly and moving for him in the final week

We desperately need winger (s) - ideally 2, playing across front 3 ideal, one being a developmental type maybe.

we still also need a right back presuming MVE goes, hopefully that’s lined up ready to go if needed.

Striker can wait for me, as people have said we have plenty! Defence being sorted further and winger (s) priority.
We are about to start the season in less than 2 weeks with BTA as our main striking option.

When Haji is unfit we lack any serious top end quality.

I do agree 2 signings would be ideal (a CF who can play across the line and a RW).

Think that’ll be too unrealistic. For me we only need one - a forward who can play off the right or up front. That would leave our options as:

The New Signing
Sakamoto
Simms
Asante
Wright
EMC

That’s perfectly fine for 3 positions.

Which players have they signed that we were ever seriously linked with?
A couple of wishlist players from members of this forum but no one that I'm aware the club was actively pursuing.

Point being though, we still were 4th top scorers in league, for me we’ve become fixated that the 9 has to score all the goals. Think there has only been 2 strikers get 20+ goals in last few years in championship.

don’t disagree it’s an issue and ideal world we would flip couple of them, but again, what’s coming in needs to be better and that’s hard to find.

Defence was the biggest issue, partially sorted, but still work to do.
Correct. No player in the whole championship scored 20 league goals last season

Always better to have the replacement before they leave. Kesler-Hayden being a perfect example

Is it? We are now under heavy pressure to sell Van Ewijk and it is seemingly stopping us from doing any serious business. The telegraph are suggesting now we will take £9m and that is only going to diminish as the window goes on and we get more desperate. It’s a blunder by King again.

Dujon Sterling, Todd Cantwell, Thelo Aasgaard and then albeit wish list but Gassama

Whether we were linked with the above but could just be Wishlist, we won’t know

This pre season for me we seemed to of dragged our feet with getting the players in and getting the squad ready. Hoping we get a couple more in this week and then be done. Before season ended weren't there talk from doug about working off 2 lists of targets, 1 if we went up and a 2nd if we stayed in the league. If we had the lists before the season was even over getting the targets in has been painful

When the targets are decent players who other teams want, then of course they will take time to complete if they complete at all.

So if there’s any truth to this and we were to sign Brownhill, you’d expect Rudoni to leave …

At 29 and out of contract at Premier bound Burnley I’d expect Brownhill not to be a development player or a cheaper option wages wise.

On balance I’d rather stick tbh.

Another load of shit I presume, these posts always list the same sort of clubs and never say “an offer has been made by x,y,z club”, just all agent chatter. Also, when you look up the guy there’s an article saying there’s “interest from Rangers”, literally who aren’t Rangers interested in, almost every player that’s been linked with us has been linked with Rangers. Wish these troll accounts would have some originality for once to make it seem fairly plausible 😂

There's not many players I would swap for Rudoni and Brownhill certainly isn't one. One is an exciting young player and the other is coming towards the end of his career.

The only way it would be acceptable is if we received a bid we couldn't afford to reject for Rudoni and then brought him in.

So I make that

GK: Rushworth, Dovin, Wilson, Collins, Bell
RB: MVE, KKH, Sandiford JR
CB: Kitching, Thomas, Perry, Baeur, Binks, Lati
LB: Brau, Toffolo, Bidwell, JDS
CM: Grimes, Sheaf, Pereira, Rudoni, Brownhill, Allen, Eccles, Andrews
LW: EMC, Zaroury, Antman
RW: Tats, Raphael, Moore
ST: Simms, Wright, BTA, Bassette, Obikwu, Bamford

Is that enough depth for the season?

Swap Bamford for a decent, improving striker and we’re there 😂

If Binks goes we won't replace him with another 'backup' to Kitching, its pointless as we'd just keep him. To me it would signal we're going to go big at CB.

Not at all but id rather have the luxury of having a replacement in the squad before we sell him

How do we know he's followed them recently?
Admittedly, I don't know if Instagram lets you check how recently a person has followed an account; it's possible Binks has followed them for a while and it's only just been noticed. Hopefully the person who told me is a Binks superfan with a constant eye on who he is or isn't following!

Starting to look like a Chelsea / Man City squad and need to loan a few out
