And we’ll get 10% every time

More on Viktor Gyokeres’ move to Arsenal. Package is €63.5m fixed and €10m in add-ons, as revealed earlier this month.

Understand breakdown of the add-ons are:
- Every 20 games (45’+): €1.25m, up to a limit of €5m.
- Every 20 goal contributions: €500k, up to a limit of €1m.
- Every seasonal qualification for the #UCL league phase: €1m, up to a limit of €4m.

So, after Sporting fans saying they'd "robbed us" by getting him for as little as £20m, the final reported fee of £55m upfront, 10% of which will come to us (granted we owe a bit to Brighton) but that puts it up to £26m with the £1m 5% waiver deal. Leaves them only making £29m (£37m if all add-ons are met) so as it stands, their "stealing him from us"? They've currently made not much more than us

10% of the profit isn't it? Hence why we're going to get just under £4m now. In total we'll have got somewhere between £20m and £25m for him.

They've won back to back league titles and qualified for the champions league 2 years running - last year they won both domestic trophies.

I think they've done just fine out of the deal. Everyone has, including us.

OK. We need to put this on ice for 2 years and re-instate on the move next to Real Madrid.

Sporting announced the details of the Gyokeres deal - 65.764M + 10.256M. The statement mentions that the amounts already include the solidarity mechanism, implying that Sporting will distribute ~3.29M to third-party clubs, in addition to ~3.75M owed to Coventry, 10% of the capital gain.

Around the Gyokeres transfer, it wasn’t the protracted negotiations that were annoying. It was the daily bullshit click bait fest by journalists and newspapers that was the real ball ache. Also the fact needy fans got sucked into such farcical reportage.
