Hopefully he is as good as it seems. I noticed Wilson threw the ball quickly alot Vs monoco so hopefully that's a lampard directive. This new guy can clearly throw!

Means no need for dovin to rush back too

However we do need to get rid of Wilson or Collins now ideally. Maybe bend both and bell is the back up till dovins ready
What it does mean is if our opponents are nearly all in our half we have a new weapon. Do we play out from the back where they try to pin us back or do we bypass most of their players directly from the GK. Should give us more space in taking the ball forward.

We'll still bring every single player back at every corner.

Interesting that it's being reported as a season long loan. Would be nice to get to a point where we have Dovin fit again and our goalkeeping problem becomes we've two quality keepers, neither of whom wants to be on the bench.

That will be a big improvement over picking the one least likely to fuck up.

We still have nearly 3 weeks for things to happen. The one thing I would love to see is Rudoni still with us when the transfer window closes. He is the 1 player we wouldn't be able to replace.

Rudoni won’t be going anywhere.

However, if we don’t go up this year I’d expect him to be gone next summer.

Another brilliant player unfairly written off on here after a few games.

The good thing about Rushworths distribution is the variety it’ll give us.

We’ve all wanted us to play quicker, having a keeper who can do that gives us the counter attack option.

Might also allow Grimes to stop playing as a third CB and start influencing play further forwards.

So leaving 2 up front when defending set pieces would be a good option, Emc and Saka possibly

You leave EMC and Wright up for me. Maybe have Rudoni or grimes on the edge of the box to facilitate the break

I can never get excited by a goalkeeper - he's hardly gonna be having fans up off their seats is he?

Exciting to Boring I’d say:

Wingers/AMs
Strikers
CMs
Goalkeepers
Centre backs
Fullbacks
DMs

Clough you to say its the most important position in the team.
And he had the best English keeper in the country.
When Arsenal won every game 1-0 they had David Seaman in goal.

There was a period last season when we were conceding 2 goals every game.
That stopped when Dovin came back in.
(And Kitching tbf) you can't be successful without a solid defensive unit.

Sakamoto stays up front for me
He's too small and lightweight to be of any use in our box, but has the pace and touch to cause problems on a quick break.

Contrary to belief on here, hes quick at turning, but he isnt the fastest running with the ball

I don't think Rudoni will be going anywhere just yet. And if get promoted this season i can see him staying for at least another season.

But Prem sides throw money about all the time. All it takes is a side like Newcastle to put something like a £30m bid in for it to become very tempting.

Just for me. YMMV. I’d hoped Grimes was more of an 8 than he is personally, it was his ability to pass from deep that excited me not him sat holding hands with Bobby Thomas playing keep ball.

His covering is second to none though. Part of the reason we/dasilva improved down left and we became more solid. With sheaf so brittle im more than happy grimes does what he does. If CBs were better on the ball then maybe he wouldnt need to pick it up off them so regularly but he also dictates tempo from deep. Sure we’ll see more from him this year as well

Great signing

Sure. Just not an exciting one.

Best of both worlds with Grimes to me. Always looking for the ball and very rarely loses it. But then you get it where he plays a 30 yard pass perfectly to unlock a defence.

And to add to this there's a good chance he has missed less games through injury in the last 10 years than some players like Sheaf misses in a season. One of the first names on the team sheet.
