People were telling me it’s 100% about finances. I only brought up poorer people having more kids and poorer countries having more kids as a reposte to that. Being wealthier clearly makes you have fewer kids on average.

The response was that well they’re all stupid and religious. Which frankly I find pretty fucking appalling considering it’s come from the progressive side of this thread. Are you really so smart if you end up extinct?

they definitely don't for food deliveries. you can go on reddit and see people openly talking about sharing accounts and paying to use established accounts.

for things like uber taxis its totally reliant on customers reporting that the driver doesn't look like the photo but how often is that happening?

guess its the logical extension to having allowed companies to use self employed staff for years. everytime I've had a company do work on my house (roofers, window fitters etc) its always one company who comes and quotes, charges for materials then someone self employed who turns up to do the work and needs paying directly.

Reform will not cut council tax in any of the areas where it controls the local authority despite pledging to find major cost savings, the head of its 'Doge' cost-cutting unit has admitted.

Kids cost a lot less than OAPs guys.

In fact almost all kids are net revenue positive for the state cos they grow up and pay taxes.

Kids are still expensive to bring up properly.

And guess what happens to most of those kids that grow up and pay taxes? They grow older. become OAP's and cost a fortune.

We need a better solution.

I made that observation because I have a public facing job in one of the poorer areas of the city.

I can tell you from experience those families with the most kids are held by their religious beliefs (mostly catholic) and have a very poor level of education. Of course there is also the fact that it's just part of life for them. The parents and grandparents had their first kids at 16-17 and it's just the norm.
