I agree in some parts but this is a pre-season after a week away training , gaffer on the line against one of the most high profile teams some these have played against in a while.
Simms who at this point is odds on to start up front didn't make one good run, his touch was still heavy and he couldn't head the ball. His best header was in defence. Thomas was still on holiday and Allen, BTA, Wilson maybe they just haven't got it.

Some weird comments on here. We literally finished pre-season last year thrashing Everton, and nearly playing Werder Bremen off the park, and look how well the first few months of that season panned out. People really need to ignore these results.

Theres a difference between disregarding the result, and pointing out things that happened to lead to that result.

If there is little point in these and nothing to learn, they may as well go run round the pitch 20 times for fitness.

I reckon even some of the free agents that are being called shit are better than what we have available tbf. Personally I'd probably get the best loan possible and if that keeps Dovin out when he's back then so be it unfortunately. Think we need to prepare to be the best we can be from the off.

Wouldn't go as far as diabolical, but would agree he is of the same ilk as the ones you mention and should have been moved on a while ago.

Has a few good games a season but is a passenger in most and can't get near the majority of championship midfielders.

Yeah, I'd take Gunn, for example, but if I was him and we were interested, I would wait to see if a club that could offer the number 1 shirt for the foreseeable came in first. If we do sign a keeper, I wouldn't be surprised if it was late in the summer.
