Lots of teams spend lots of money on the prem. Why ain't all of them making semis of CL and going for titles?

Listen to yourself. Your saying he bottled(hate this term , always used by sofa experts) the league title Vs Manchester fucking city who spend more than anyone. So you are admitting he's a good enough manager to get on that damn position on first place!

Anyway gyok fee agreed. 6m to us hopefully
You can make a point without being an arse you know. I don't rate Arteta as highly as yourself that's all . How do come to a figure of 6m btw ? It's not that at all .

Not as much as id hoped tbh, but considering we've made almost 26 million off him in total, thats not bad going is it
What we will get is probably enough for another player, we can't whinge at that - He is certainly the best investment we have ever made and are likely to make for a long time

I can't say I will be watching him as eagerly as I have been now our financial incentive for him to do well is over, but will always have a soft spot for him and he is the best player I have seen pull on our shirt - Hope he scores a hattrick at Villa Park and The Stadium of Light

Happy he’s got his move and we’ve got some more funds. Wonder what the add ons are as we’ll get 15% (of profit) if not wrong.
It was reduced to 10% when we collected all the other add ons. Which as the transfer fee isn't as massive as dreamed of, probably worked out as a good bit of business. Brighton will then get 15% of our payout.

Sorry forgot that, so well at least get 10% of future add ons, let’s hope their not for Arsenal to win the league as that’ll never happen 🤣

Outstanding deal really - 1 year left, still slight unknown at top level. Couldn’t have got anymore.

can’t wait to see how he goes.

hamer next, bank that money - then let’s see what king and Lampard have up sleeve - think we may all be surprised again (like grimes)

KKH falls into that for me TBH. Just the kind of young exciting signing I like. If we get another couple in like that I’d be very happy.

Yes when you look at it now that's not bad to get in the high 30% of the deal they've achieved, only down to his stance though really.

Can’t be arsed to do the maths so hope someone will do it for me…

How much did we lose out financially by them paying that money early to reduce it to 10%

So basically…

What would we have got at 15%

And what did we get total doing it the way they did

If we're getting about £4m, then its £2m.... People said we sold it to buy BTA, who we bought for about £2m, so we probably havent missed out much at all (if any)

Apologies for you mixed up with others who were commenting. Missed where you said you don't deny he's a good manager

And I just did approx 10 percent of the initial fee not add ons just to be safe

Not worth trying to work out, Doug will say nothing and we will only know I suppose when the books are out. Either way if any money is generated we need it to give FL for the improvements needed to push on again next season.

May be sime deals already lined up can now be sanctioned if the money is going to become available. Could be a busy week or 2 as i see others being moved on as well as 2 or 3 in.

To keep it easy. If someone could spell it out like the following…

If we would have got 15% we would have got….

For us getting 10% + the early payment we received a total of…

Just intrigued to see overall if we lost out on much by doing it the way it was done

If it’s 63.5m Euros up front it would have been around £55m - we sold him for £20m

so 15% - £5.25m
We then received £2m for the sell on being knocked down to 10% so we would receive a further £3.5m (so £5.5m)

im sure we get 10% of the remaining £8.5m of add ons if he hits then.

Don't forget that he'd already hit some of the additional on's too, that's on top of the 2m-ish received to reduce the percentage.

Also worth noting that it was written into the initial contract that Sporting could buy out that 5%. Think it was conditional on certain performance clauses being met (and them having essentially paid us more already than the additional fee).

I saw an article that mentioned the club would receive around an additional £4.35 million form the sale .

It was in sportings gift to do this, they just accelerated any future add ons/bonus payments to reduce the sell on. It was their call not ours

I am just so glad Doug took over when he did meaning that SISU didn't flog him for £5m with no future incentives at the end of the Jan '23 window
