He’s way behind in the queue to fondle Netanyahu’s balls, he’ll be some time.

What think you of interim Syrian President Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa also known by his nom de guerre Abu Mohammad al-Julani?

Looks like Gaza going the same way as Iraq and Libya. Even with a ceasefire / peace treaty this disaster isn't ending any time soon. As soon as Israel pulls out it seems likely there could be a civil war of some description.

This is a good summary:

This is a picture of him when he was in ISIS, he broke off and formed HTS.

In Syria, HTS stands for Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. It's an armed Islamist group that has become a dominant force in the Syrian opposition. Formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra, an al-Qaeda affiliate, HTS publicly broke away from al-Qaeda in 2016. Despite this split, the group retains a Salafi-jihadist ideology and is designated as a terrorist organization by the UN, US, and EU.

I mean that’s the nature of the region. What do you think the west should have done?

Who could have predicted that creating a power vacuum could go wrong. Not like its happened every fucking time its been attempted.

Cynic in me is that this is a deliberate "divide and rule" strategy. If they're fighting each other then they haven't got time to fight Israel - much the same as happened for a long time in Lebanon.

I'm not defending Tony Blair but that seems like a very click baity headline.

The article says two staff members were on some calls about it. The TBI didn't author or endorse anything to do with it.

You haven't read the article then.

Again, I'm not defending Tony Blair, but the article clearly states that the TBI staff didn't mention anything about relocating Palestinians - that came from an Israeli.

As I say I'm not defending him or the TBI, it's just a very click baity headline.
It's alright then, as long as they didn't say anything just were present at a discussion entirely premised upon it.

What do you think is the cause of that? 🤭

One lengthy document on postwar Gaza, written by a TBI staff member, was shared within the group for consideration. This included the idea of a “Gaza Riviera” with artificial islands off the coast akin to those in Dubai, blockchain-based trade initiatives, a deep water port to tie Gaza into the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor, and low-tax “special economic zones”.
The TBI document said the devastating war in Gaza had “created a once-in-a-century opportunity to rebuild Gaza from first principles . . . as a secure, modern prosperous society”.

Not sure what your issue is with that. Nothing about a Trump or Musk area or relocation. Just standard think tank “country of the future” stuff.

This piece is three minutes long. It’s just unbelievable. To say it’s hard to watch is an understatement but I’d recommend you do.
Its absolutely horrific but there's stuff like this every day now and all we seem concerned about is stopping people protesting that its happening. Its sickening.

Not sure how anyone can defend this and just keep parroting 'Israel has a right to defend itself'.
