He has proved he is more than capable at top end of championship. Yes hes not premier league yet. But we dont really want to be spunking more money on a position where we are well stacked.

Brau will be an upgrade on both or we would not have bought him. So chill out and have faith. Im more than comfortable to give Brau a chance.
He will never be Premier Leauge quality

In this case I’d be looking at someone like Callum Doyle (v unlikely to actually be him) who could play LB and LCB so they could tuck across to form that back 3 on the ball without Grimes having to drop. Can’t imagine KKH will be used like this in the same way MVE was at times.

It won't be Doyle because Man City want £15m for him. Even if he goes for less I can still see it being £12m. Think we need Gyokeres money and MVE to go to see any chance of that one happening.

I think the Spanish lad has played FB and CB. His dad certainly played CB and apparently was very good. Grimes likes to drop deep so all options are in front of him. It's the way he plays I can't see that changing. He only pushes on when we get into the final third.

I think it's quite clear we won't be splashing much more cash without any outgoings.

The squad is pretty full as it is. Need to shift on 2 or 3 that aren't up to the level, then we can add a bit more quality.

Unless of course MVE or Rudoni gets sold for big money, but even then there isn't much squad space left. Time for a few to go out the door.

We've spent the gyokeres money on KKH

Hence ‘v unlikely to actually be him’.

Yes, but the point re Grimes is that opposition will see that as our only way out and will try to cut off supply either to him or his options once he has it. We need to be able to vary the approach to get out. Someone like Doyle means you could switch the exit point to pull the opposition in another direction.

I think it’s fair to assume as we haven’t even got the Vik money yet that this is the squad and until things change then this is it.
Bar hopefully a goalkeeper .

I agree we can't afford to rely on playing out through one man. That's why we were so poor before Grimes came, because Sheaf was struggling with the responsibility of it and not having Hamer as an option. But Grimes is better at it than Sheaf anyway.

He has no mens football under his belt yet does he? Tbh i don't think there's much between League 2 and the National League and FGR will probably be up there. Maybe if he excels he'll move up the ladder in Jan.
Judging by your stockports, notts countys etc the nl is maybe better

I think someone like Walsall would have been perfect
Yeah I'd always would have thought Walsall would be a good place for our youth prospects, suppose the one drawback would be they could stay at home and listening to people like Peter Crouch and other professionals, they always said moving out whilst on loan made them really grow up
