We don’t sign another player , before the season starts ?
The Dolan circus ( was that being an upgrade on Saka & would it upset the team harmony ) ?
Calum Doyle , with Man City putting a ridiculous price on his head …… some deal if possible to be hammered out …. If we could afford it ?
With Frank having more time now to get these players fine tuned , isn’t this group good enough to again be minimum top 6 ?

Well there's certainly more to get out of some of the squad that's for sure.

FL is quoted as saying on a number of occasions how impressed he is of the willingness of the group to take on new ideas and to work hard and the togetherness.

Whether he can get a tune out of everyone is doubtful imo.

The league may be harder this season, with those coming up spending a bit of cash.
Having said that, I'd still expect us to achieve a top 6 finish with the players we have.
FL has had a full pre-season to work with the squad and will no doubt bring 2 or 3 more players in. (CH and CF hopefully)
All in all im feeling optimistic for the coming season.

I still think a number of players in the squad still have some headroom to develop. Good management and coaching is as much about developing what you have, as it is about buying new players.

You always need a few new faces for fresh impetus but continuity is also important. Pre season is really the first proper opportunity FL has had to implement and endorse his tactics. I always thought we would only see about 4 come through the door with next to nothing going out.

Obviously if a club came in with a big offer for one of our players, that might change the landscape.

We need to get promotion ASAP if the article below is accurate.

The financial losses in the championship are shocking.

Several of the clubs mentioned in that article have had their snouts in the premiership trough recently, and certainly far more recently than us and yet still they're losing more money so I don't think even getting promoted is a magic bullet.

We do in fact have a ‘top 6 deck’ and if we could not drop bags of points at the start of the year we would be in a good place. We created the 2nd highest big chances (only behind Leeds) and also had a tonne of injury problems. We’ve now recruited in both full backs so if Milan stays we’ve avoided burning him out (his poor performances often came from fatigue) and with quality in KKH…. LB where the majority of opponent goals stem from (assists and dribbles (outside of keeper errors) which potentially could be resolved with Brau (jury’s out).

whilst our strikers get stick, they did underperform their Xg and so in theory if they step up which we know they can, they can run away with it.

My concerns are keeper cover… and lack of depth on the wings. Sakamoto and Mason-Clarke are great, but an injury can leave us disjointed. Also helps to have different player profiles on wings, if the trickery of Sakamoto isn’t working, a faster stronger more direct can help open low block teams up for example.

We’d be fine without signing anymore but ideally we would.

Yes, but they're often still paying Premier League wages (or a high percentage of them), and they are still paying instalments on signings made while they were in the Premier League, whilst on a Championship income. The parachute payments help them with that, but fees and wages are so high that it still isn't enough.

Well yes, and as a consequence promotion doesn't solve their problems.

A fair pecenrage of our support would melt down if King didn't do the things you've mentioned in an attempt to stay up, but as much as everyone wants promotion I don't think anyone expects another 30 year plus top flight stay so in all liklihood we'd be facing the same problems on our return to the championship.

Maybe it's something to do with supporters expectations go up on promotion as well as chasing the money they got from promotion.

When we get promoted i hope we don't spend every penny it gets us in order to get a small chance of staying up. Keep our best players and add more like KKH to the squad that would make us stronger in the Championship when we go back down. Keep half the money raised from promotion for a rainy day. Try to keep as a yoyo club as we build a stronger squad.

If we do bring in a new keeper they are likely to be a loan and it's entirely clear who is going to be available yet.
