How come the the other band members are being forgotten about. I get the brothers being the main focus but it's not like they're backed by a bunch of random session musicians. Even the 'band' photos are just the two of them.

I thought this, is it just stand in's on the drums and bass guitar?

I think only the drummer is completely new to Oasis? Bonehead is quite prominent and a few of the other guys who were part of it later on are playing these shows as well. It's very much promoted as 'Liam, Noel and pals' as you'd expect though

If I was an Oasis fan I'd be wanting to go and see Oasis. Not like it's a band which had a revolving door of members. I would have far less interest in going to see Liam, Noel and pals.

It's being promoted similarly to when the Robinson brothers got back together and created a new Black Crowes line up to tour arenas & stadiums in the US with nobody who had previously been in the band. Which is strange to me when nobody can argue that this is a proper Oasis line up.

I’m not sure you’d want to see them with the original drummer, he was rubbish.

Now I wasn't there, but calling it the best they've been live since 1995 feels like hyperbole considering how much the Knebworth, Earl's Court, Gmex and Wembley gigs are still spoken about

"I have seen Oasis many, many times and this was the best they've been since 1995, when I caught them supporting REM at Ireland's Slane Castle"

Everything is about hype these days. Has to be the best ever or world beating.

Seems impossible for anyone to just say it was a good gig and they had fun.

I’m in a few music groups and it drives me mad, every day there’s ’best gig ever’ posts.

But that's effectively what we are going to see. In terms of original band members, Bonehead is the only one. Both Andy Bell and Gem Archer are later additions after Bonehead and Guigsy left and the drummer is completely new and never drummed with Oasis but got the gig from touring with LG and John Squire. Aka, Liam, Noel, and pals

I'd be amazed if he does more than a couple of songs, probably with a backing track like his last few 'live' appearances. Think the best case scenario is he's well enough to sit on his throne and watch other artists guest with his solo band and Sabbath.

tbh that is by far the better option. I haven't seen Ozzy live in years and back then he was struggling massively
i'm not a massive fan, but i fully acknowledge what they did back in the day.
just look at the support bands. that's some line up, and a massive show of respect to them.

this gig is either a very brave thing to do, or very stupid. but i do hope it goes well.
it's amazing that they are all still around, that's a minor miracle in itself.

Seen the line up for Black Sabbath - 30 odd mins for Ozzy but I guess various members may tip up in other sessions - would love to be there but Brum is a no go IMG_4522.png

My first time at Heaton Park too. I'm buzzing to see Ashcroft again. Haven't seen him since IoW 2016.

Us aswell next Saturday-Heaton park. If you are driving let me know where you managed to park. 😀
As others have said the Ricoh gig was really the beginning of the end and seemed a bit effortless at the time but really looking forward to them both on stage again at last instead of with the separate bands.
Seen them both separately on a few occasions after the fall out. Couldn’t really get on with the beady eye stuff but High Flying Birds have a few decent tunes.
When we were looking at the time hotels in the area were over a grand for 2 nights which was just silly. We are heading up on the Friday and staying 2 nights and managed to bag a hotel for £210 but 30 mins drive away which I don’t mind for a saving of over a grand!

Looks and sounds likes they're absolutely bang on it. Fair f*cken play. Liam's never gonna be what he was but you can tell he's worked hard to be on a good spot. If anyone hasn't seen Supersonic it's on Channel 4 now. Brilliant film. Here's a great little interview with Liam from a little while back while we're at it...

North Leics…...unfortunately
Got tickets for Wembley because the daughter wanted to go… but never felt so un-enthusiastic about a gig before. Loads of people holding phones up.. in a huge stadium. Nah not for me.

The set list is not the best, what you'd expect a tribute act to play

Nah, it was pretty much all the well known bangers which was the right call for a reunion tour. There’s maybe a couple I’d have changed but just personal preference. Crazy when you look at the monster set list and there’s still another half a dozen that wouldn’t have looked out of place on there

The first few songs look great, it all goes ridiculously downtempo after like nine or ten songs.

They’ve always done a low tempo Noel bit and they still slipped in slide away and rock n roll star later on. agree tempo does drop off, it’s all the classics though. You don’t start low tempo when people have been waiting 15 years for a reunion so the second half was always likely to be a bit like that

Not really a lot you can do when some of your best, well known songs are lower tempo 🤷‍♂️

You literally just said there’s another half a dozen songs that could have gone on the setlist instead!

I was saying wouldn’t have looked out of place. I understand it comes down to personal preference though. I’m not a massive fan of wonderwall, more because it’s been played to death over the years, but they’re never not going to play it.

We've ore booked parking through YourParkingSpace.com at a Sainsbury's not far away. Around a 19 min walk according to Google maps so should do it in around 15 as I generally walk faster than Google maps.

More than half a dozen. Not on the set list that have been regulars for them as a band and/or both solo

Whatever
Rocking Chair
Go Let It Out
I Am The Walrus (cover)
Let There Be Love
Importance of Being Idle
She's Electric
All Around The World
The Hundu Times
Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Songbird
Lyla
Helter Skelter (cover)

Granted there's 2 covers in there but still regularly on their setlists throughout the years.
And this list isn't including a few personal preferences I'd have liked to have seen such as

She is Love
Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is
Sunday Morning Call
Be Here Now
I Can See A Liar
Headshrinker
Shock of the Lightning

Whatever was played but yeah, it’s crazy the amount of tracks they’ve got in their locker. I’d personally chuck shakermaker, Columbia, d’yer wanna be a spaceman, don’t go away and cum on and feel the noize in the mix as well. would’ve loved I am the walrus

can’t complain with what they went with though

I love how angry people have got about the girl on shazam, for some people it's just that song they hear on all the ads and films
