People are making really good points
Some clubs have class and I’d like to think we do
It’s a disgrace that owners can destroy 100’s of years of history and we should call them out all of them
Does open up some questions around tickets etc.

If you have an outstanding payment from SW could you refuse to give them tickets for away games because you have reasonable belief that you won't be paid? Similarly if you're owed money could you receive tickets and then refuse to give SW any money for them to offset the money they owe you?

The worst debt in football to have is to another football club closely followed by players not being paid. Then you have the taxman.

If they can't cover what they owe to other clubs they might as well give up now. The problem is if they have used SWFC as collateral. It could mean they can't afford to run the club and can't afford to sell for what it's worth.

Reading a bit more about it they owed Villa £1m for Louie Barry's loan last season (he hardly played). I'd imagine that Hull have tried to lump payment of that fee in with a proposed transfer fee (with or without Villa's consent), the deal has fallen apart and Villa has reported them.

Good that we play them first, as you'd assume that will hamper their recruitment, even if they manage to get the ban lifted. Can't imagine clubs would want to deal with them, nor players want to get involved, if they appear to be in the mire, financially.

I hadn't realised that they were late paying the players a couple of months back too.

There is a little bit of schadenfreude about Hull given that their fans were all over socials giving it the bigger after spunking loads on out of reach loan players a couple years ago.

Spoke with a sensible Hull fan at work this morning - alarm bells rang after the sacking of Rosenior and even more so after Selles departed. They managed to sign a couple of decent players before this potential embargo, so they should be OK for a bit.

Guess we've been lucky so far with our owner who replaced a hated previous regime! (Although the Allams were nowhere near as terrible as SISU)

Spending £1m for a loan player in January is mental.

Can’t remember how much they were flirting with relegation at that point, and clearly Barry didn’t make a difference, but I could maybe follow the logic. Relegation would likely cost them £4-5m if not more.
