Didn't they originally estimate the end of the calendar year? I doubt that doing some gym work suggests he'll be taking to the field any time soon. Surely more like keeping up his general fitness, including upper body strength etc.
Yeah will have been in the gym within a fortnight of surgery to do rest of body and within a month to be working on operated knee

Even if he is progressing well with rehab it doesn't change the time required for the graft ACL to bed in which is the limiting factor on recovery once strength markers are hit. Will be 9 months absolute minimum.

To be fair Alex Morgan was playing again in 6 months so it just takes as long as it takes. Could be 9 months or could be longer or shorter.

If I was to bet on outcomes on the basis of what is on here (always a risky thing to do) - after over 150 pages

- Doyle is a no-no, sadly. So we will not have one of the biggest arses in football (I mean that physically, it is no judgement on him as a person, he may be absolutely lovely)

- Dolan is highly probable unless a similar Championship or even Prem club, comes in with better cash or more prospects respectively. But there is no smoke without fire and it sounds as tho' we are in for him.

- Be staggered if MVE is not on his way. KKH would not have chosen us without that assurance. He would have had other suitors.

But otherwise little action, so those with long unrealistic shopping lists likely to be disappointed.

I would like a loanee goalkeeper, although suspect he will stick with Wilson; a dominating central defender; a striker, and a (net) sheaf. That is that if Sheaf goes he is replaced, hopefully by someone more dynamic.

Don't care who goes out from among the usual suspects just so long as some do to balance the books a bit

I had no idea Victor Torp's surname was Overgaard!
He said it in video the club put out to help people with the pronunciation of their names. Which didn't do much for Milan who people still think is named after an air freshener.

Thinking about it, Lampard should look at the full video to learn how to pronounce Rudoni.

It's a fair point - in other countries surgeons have slightly different protocols so there is some variation, but I don't know of any Ortho surgeons in the UK the would allow return to sport before 9 month mark. If he does return before 9 months then we are being very experimental...

There was a guy in Italy that used to get them back in 3 months and their injury recurrence rate was through the roof!

All he’s good at is ‘occupying’ defenders. Which in itself, is not a skill. Wouldn’t look out of place in league one.
He had a poor season last year but his career at youth level was incredible ( broke Man City’s scoring records ) and had consistently scored goals at pro level until last year. Many young bigger strikers struggle to do so initially.

Yes he’s not technically gifted or as physical as his attributes would suggest he could be but there is a goal scorer in there ….

Does scoring goals at youth level mean much? Especially for a bigger lad, maybe he had a big physical advantage then? I don’t know but there’s been so many players score for fun at youth level yet do nothing at senior level.

Genuinely just don’t think he has it. I personally don’t see a goal scorer and don’t think he offers anything to the side. I think the spell in 23/24 was more of an anomaly than the poor performances last season, personally.

Hope I am wrong but not sure we’ll find out as imagine we’ll be looking to offload. Playoffs spoke volumes of where management are at with him.

In many games there was little else he could do but occupy defenders, especially away from home, because our midfielders couldn't get the ball to him. Wright had the same problem when he was played down the middle.

I'd have to suggest our 10g game winning run, where it didn't affect the team?

Couldn’t find him or didn’t want to? It’s hard to trust a ball into someone when it just bounces off them.

This is the problem with Simms. If he is not scoring, he does nothing else. He can’t hold the ball up, struggles to bring others in to play and he can’t/wont run channels.
