Just to give you an insight into how lucky we are with DK after the disastrous S*SU years.
Here’s what’s happening at Sheffield Weds.
They’ve only got 16 first team players (including 9 u21’s).
Because of financial impropriety-
They have a transfer ban for the next 3 transfer windows and cannot resign (after contract lapses -Barry Bannon for eg-ironically he’s been offered a contract which he can’t sign but has been training at the club) or sign anyone.
They missed last months wages and are late for this months.
Because of this 9 players have written to club the club asking for the immediate cancellation of their contracts & unless they get paid within 14 days they become out of contract players (free transfers).
Also entire 1st team coaching staff have left because of unpaid wages and Danny Rohl has not come back to the club since the end of last season.
Danny Rohl has a 5M release clause in his contract which is stopping prospective clubs going for him (but obvs he can go if they don’t pay his wages for a second month).
Players (those that are left)reported back to training last Thursday to find the training pitches not suitable to play on and they spent most of the day in the Gym-players were given individual plans and asked to train at home by academy coach.
On Monday Training pitches still not ready and players rented out a local athletics track to train on.
Sheff Weds find themselves literally in the same situation that Bolton were in a few years ok probably having to play with teenagers and getting hammered every week.
Now is the time to put bets on their relegation!
Always someone worse off than yourself!

Wednesday fans, along with most fans, had no problem taking the piss out of our situation and were generally unsympathetic.
I have read a lot of Wednesday fans posting and criticising the EFL regulations around ownership responsibilities over the last few days. How the EFL need to be more robust. I don’t remember them being so vocal when it was us, Bolton, Bury or Oldham that was in trouble?
My point is I don’t want to see any club go out of business. Even one of our biggest rivals, because football is built on rivalry.
Before any fan wades in laughing and taking the piss, remember in a few years time it could be your club. Remember when you want an owner to spend, spend, spend chasing a dream, the money can run out and the accumulated debt become unserviceable.
Enjoy what you have and what you have got. If you want better and fairer governance campaign for it, all fans together. Don’t wait and bleat when your club has paddled up shit creek.
Tough times ahead for Wednesday. I hope it is resolved quickly.
