Not all rumours are from the press.

I once picked up on one re Swift purely through knowing one of his mates.
The postman at where I worked at in Brum, told me that he was big mates with Clive Platt and that he was signing for us that summer!

That was a pretty mental signing at the time. Although think he would have been perfect over some of the rubbish we had in those lower league years

Not arguing it’s a real source as it’s clearly not, but more it is one I could see us being interested in.
No thanks, he got ripped apart on his Brighton debut, looked slow and ineffective.

At fault for the second goal, and didn't close his man down quickly enough for the third,
No better than what we've already got, and although they paid a rediculous fee for him, it's clear to see why Brighton want to off load him.

Who’s saying that Bobby Thomas is leaving us?!
Eiran Cashin

Not in the know at all but hearing persistently that someone’s heard from someone that Bobby Thomas may be off.

Anyway, Eiran Cashin; remember his name being mentioned when we were looking at lots of Derby youth.

Seemingly available on season long loan from Brighton after a big money move there resulted in no breakthrough into the prem.

I suspect this link is the usual tosh tho…

Not on loan personally. I think loan players will be squad filler only

I very much doubt that. Clubs sending their young players out on loan will inevitably expect them to receive consistent game time so using them as squad filler won't really be an option.

I think anyone brought in on loan will probably have a fairly prominent role in the squad.

To be honest someone like Brooks makes sense from that angle. Would get game time at both RW and AM throughout the season.

Yes think there is nothing to it, but we need rotation for Rudoni and Sakamoto and Brooks provides that without having players who can only play CAM or RW.

Thats why i like that italian striker, can play down the middle or on the wing too.

Backup doesnt necessarily mean 2 players per position, its about flexibility of players to play other positions.

Yes a players reputation can come down to
1. Playing to their strengths
2. Expecting to do something they are capable of

A squad does need utility players. Players who will just go out and give their best in any position.

Too many fans expect perfection week in week out. Off the bench change and have an impact on the game.

But football doesn't work like that, it is not an exact science or even an xg spreadsheet.
