£35 million for Elliot Anderson is actually disgusting

Probably my age starting to show, but I think the same about 35 million for Maatsen.

Although sometimes these headline figures are misleading due to the way the deal is structured with add-ons. Most the time those figures will never be achieved.

Yeh I agree, most transfer fees in the Prem disgust me actually. But fucking Elliot Anderson...

At least you’ve heard of Anderson. Chelsea paid Villa the same for a random 18 year old as Sporting paid us for Vik
I've heard of him because he had a good spell at Bristol Rovers
But yeh same there, absolute joke.
God I hate the league that I desperately want us to get to. Confusing times..

Imagine the signing on fees, agents fees and increased wages that a £35 million footballer expects this is madness.

35m is clearly overinflated value! Isn't this what the league say they will crack down on.

The youth player trades piss me off the most. Two teams buy a youth player for say 9m off each other. Then can declare a profit in a single year but spread the outlay over 3 years. Stupid loophole that is being used to massage the books.

Looks openly fraudulent that all these weird swap deals went on in the few days leading up to the end of the FFP window. I really hope they all get called out but I have little faith they will. Hopefully the house of cards will topple in a few years as all they are doing is kicking debt down the road.

They all sit in their offices looking smug thinking 'how clever are we' when it's just making the problem way worse in the long run. But they won't care as they'll have got their share and fucked off by then.

Welcome to the world of finance!

This stuff is outrageous.

Everton and Villa did a player swap for £9m each- Dobbin joined Villa, 21, had a very underwhelming loan spell in league one and has struggled to get on the pitch. How’s he worth £9m when we got Simms for less, who had a better CV?

Now Newcastle are signing Forest’s backup keeper who only joined last summer. Can’t find a fee but I bet it’s inflated to fuck.

Will this not all collapse in a few years when clubs are carrying all these amortised costs?

I assume because we’re still scrambling around for a midfielder

'scrambling' I think the fans are, more than the club? That is not to say I don't think the club aren't looking or trying. Sometimes these things take time and more consideration than the fans think.

Sometimes transfers are like moving house, it is reliant on a chain of events.

Just looking at the stats

he made just 11 league appearances this season, 6 starts, 5 subs and unused sub 9 times. Played a total of 512 minutes in the league.

Europa league 4 appearances all as sub, 6 times an unused sub.

In fact out of a possible 48 games across all comps
23 appearances
11 starts
12 subs
19 unused sub

Bet he’s regretting it

~500 minutes will stunt his development at 23 whereas he would’ve surely been a starter here

Plus he will never get anywhere near the Forest team
