Yep. He was basically done bar the signature. Had been round Ryton, verbally agreed with Doug, Robins etc, even Red Star had agreed the fee and all sorts.

Medical was booked, he was probably at best 36 hours out from signing, and then whatever happened happened, instead of driving to Ryton for his new signing photoshoot and all that jazz he drove to Nottingham and the rest is history

Not necessarily. They loaned him to one of their sister companies, possibly saw he was not fit for premiership, rather than keep him sell him to a championship club but have a few additions like, buy back if he turns out to be good. He is still young so can still develop.

He wasn’t the first signing to be gazumped. He won’t be the last (I’m not even sure he was the latest). The unusual aspect was that his club broke the story and may have been complicit in trying to get a better deal for him and probably them.

I say we totally ignore him.
