In intensive care in an induced coma after an injury that should never have happened.

Hopefully he's ok and that the fa change that pathetic rule where they don't flag for clear offsides.

The injury was from playing football could easily have happened if he’d been onside it’s silly to equate the injury with an offside not given

Straight to defending officials.

If the clear offside was flagged and given then it doesn't happen. It wasn't one even a close one that they wanted to see what happened and then check.

There is an obvious player welfare issue here but it has nothing to do with VAR.

I didn't say it had?

I said it wasn't a tight offside call where they would let it play out and then check VAR. He was about 10 yards offside.

Those are the rules - it’s not up to the referee to ignore them just because there’s a chance a player might get injured in some hypothetical incident that follows.

I would say the obvious scandal here is a player suffering an injury that ultimately requires hospital treatment staying on the field to play for a further 10 minutes without being subbed off.

The offside thing is an absolute charade when everyone and their dog knows the flag is going to go up but for some reason it has to be delayed. Talk about time being wasted in football? There's a few seconds that can be recovered by the officials.
