Your insight on this has been useful. One question I have though is how old is the info?

As @Jimmy87 was saying we were chasing high calibre players until the window shut. Therefore, the situation has potentially changed materially from the time you had your info, which I think may have been July iirc?

From King’s POV in July, if we were confident in bringing in a marquee CM who would’ve been a high earner… what would be the point of signing James on 12-15k per week to be 5th choice CM?

Whereas the situation now is that we’ve not signed that marquee CM, Sheaf is injured and the window has shut so we can only sign free agents. In July this transfer didn’t make much sense and now it makes complete sense for this season imo.

Agreed

He’s happy to chuck another million on a gamble of a 23 year old but not for short term gain. Does he think every signing he’s made will make a profit?

He's been extremely blinded by the fact he walked into the club and had 2 young players make him 35 million quid profit straight off the bat and now feels he can do that with every player we sign

Again, as I've said before, King needs to understand you cannot run a football club the way you can run any other business

Typical of a businessman buying into football that.

No idea Clint but if any walk of life if you leak confidential info that criticises your boss / company owner you get fired …..
Perhaps that what he want! Take the compo and run!

I'd Love to Know Why Some People Don't use Capital Letters, ie.

Capitalize the first word of a Sentence.

Capitalize after a full stop.

Capitalize Nouns and Names.

Capitalize Family Relationship.

Capitalize Months, Holidays and Days.

Capitalize Events and Periods.

Capitalize the "I" If it a Pronoun.

Sorry you did Ask. 🧐
Pray for Little Letters🙏🏻

You don’t get compensation for gross misconduct

Not for one minute do I think that's Robins's plan, but it's football mate, failure and fucking about are highy lucrative

I'd love too but at that point it's just words. No substance to it without who it is attached to it if that makes sense
Makes sense just difficult to get on board with it that makes sense since we have no confirmation and last we heard you lost your sources.

Nothing against you as I’m sure you’ve heard it just becomes he said vs she said without it if that makes sense?

Nothing differwnt really to what i posted the other day

Robins has approached Doug to say can we have Matty James to help with the middle for at least this season

Robins and James have spoken and happy for a deal to take place

Doug, thus far hasn't agreed as he feels it's 'dead money' e.g, can't make a profit on him at a later date. Similar to the aversion to loans
Sounds silly but would Robins talk to James about a deal his boss wouldn’t allow?

Seems unprofessional unless it just happens a lot behind the scenes of football and I’ve always thought Mark to be model professional (unless he’s the rat leaking the squad news each game 🤣)

I'd love to be able to post it all over here but as we've seen it ends up on Twitter within 30 seconds and causes a shitstorm for everyone involved

So what is James actually asking for?

I assume he'll want 20k ish. Would think we'd want to just give him a 1 year deal but he might be asking for more?

Can see DK hesitant to give him a 2 year deal when he's unlikely to play much next season.

Feck it, let’s get X whipped up again. Might be able to get a Matty a contract through the wonderful act of cyber bullying 🤣

I doubt he'll be asking for £20k a week. He's 33, with no club, a month after the season started. If he is asking for that, then I can understand the speculation of hesitation on the deal.

Would have thought 12 to 15K. With his age and at this point in the window. Wonder if he wanted more earlier. I think the real killer would be how long, imagine he would want two years and we’d ideally want him for a year (if we can get a cm in by January).

I think so yea, my worry is if we have an awful season players like Wright and Simms will plummet in transfer value if they have poor seasons personally.

if DK does not sort out some help for MR in the midfield to get us through to January window closure I shall seriously consider not renewing my ST come next May, £550 for the promise of a free season ticket if we go up will be a bloody CON!

Exactly, for the want of a senior pro to get the best out of all the rest!

I think the urgency and need for this deal really depends on Sheaf's situation. We still have had no official communication of what's happening with him after that 20 min cameo.

Aside from Robins officially saying he's back in training this week?

That was superceeded by these comments from MR:

"and that’s why it was a massive blow on Thursday when we lose him for however long we are going to lose him for.”

Asked what he’s done, he revealed: “It’s an aggravation of the same injury. We trained at the stadium on Thursday and he caught the ball on the end of his toe when a cross came in and he was taking a touch to shoot but he actually didn’t take the touch, tried to shoot, one touch. It would have been better if he’d have taken a touch because he wouldn’t have got injured, but the ball came across at some force and then he went through it and it just opened the injury up again, so it’s given him a little bit of pain.

“So whilst it’s not the same injury as before, it’s an aggravation. The break has come at a good time, I guess.”

Sheaf was out for five weeks with his initial ankle injury but it's unclear how much longer his recovery will take after this setback.

Well actually the statement is more, no other business wiould only invest in assets that had a sell on benefit, they'd be unable to function. The office team wants a new printer / photocopier "No, sorry we can't buy that as it'll be worth nothing when we stop using it"

Their value is not affected by our league position unless we get relegated which is highly unlikely.

Well they go hand in hand don't they really... Their success will define our success. If neither of them fire we will struggle and their value will tumble
