And this is the problem with fans like you, you want instant results and its just not going to happen. 12 years of total crap tells you there's a lot to sort but whatever, we want results now. And even then, results HAVE picked up, but one loss and its panic!

Instant results? I don't call 25 years as instant :D

Doesn't help when some poster claim

1) that we have a good squad one that every other team in the league is envious of

2) that we will win 5 in a row, after winning 2

3) that we will make the play off easily even though no team in the last 30+ years has made the top 6 from being in the relegation zone after 15 games

4) we have momentum when our last 6 league games are DLLWWL.

5) ridiculing posters who say we are currently in a relegation scrap and that aiming for midtable in our current predicament is being too cautious.

Etc etc

Nothing to do with our decline down the league's. All to do with the manager, I can see that now

No expert but I've seen enough football to judge by his pre-city record ad how we seem to play better attacking footbal under Thorn to think its gonna be a case of a new manager here next summer

so under thorn, 2-0 up against crawley. crawley score, we would have gone up the other end and made it 3-1?

What have we seen?! Nothing, exactly nothing. Know why? Because we haven't had enough time yet!

He did get 9 players including a transfer fee for one.
I know Swindon spent about half a million, did anyone else?

Wow, sign as many frees as possible, great investment

Investment in a team means improving it wether thats for free or requires money. anyone can give 9 unheard of players (excluding Kilbane) a ring and offer them peanuts to put in half hearted performances, but that isnt investment.

Well said ccfc92. We know this football club won't progress until we have new owners, owners who care about the club and are willing to put serious investment into the playing side. This never has and never will happen under shitsu.

As I said I think Swindon have spent money, has anyone else.

Those nine players have contracts. People had heard of Kilbane, Elliott, Fleck, Barton.
Brown, Ball where pretty unheard of like with most loan players (Nimely, Norwood, Henderson.....)
DMC was in the pipeline.
So it is only really the two French boys.
I am afraid in league one terms I would say this is top six level investment.

Ps despite the above I do not like SISU and hold them accountable for the numerous shocking decisions during their tenure. Including the latest.......

I would say most people hadn't really heard of Barton or Fleck either

As per my post in another thread... 10th November 2012 - the first day on which fans appeared on SBT calling for Robins' head.

I know it was just one or two idiots, but in under 2 months in the job he already has the odd person questioning him. If he'd done better, nobody would even think of it.

I'm sure 99% of fans support Robins, but to have even the smallest debates about his role, after the same amount of time in the job as George Entwhistle, shows it's not going as smoothly as it might

No it's to do with Sisu giving us the wrong managers CONSTANTLY

Since 2005, we had 4 out of 5 managers who had won promotions to the Premiership, and Chris Coleman did a good job at Fulham without a huge budget. Where all these guys really bad managers? They seemed to have successful spells before they joined us!

I would take any of our previous managers apart from Thorn & Peter Reid over Robins going back as far as maybe Strachan who people hate but for me had my best city memories under

I think it says more about the fans and the way we've been treated over the last 25 years than it does about Robins.

As I've said before, I'd rather this gradual improvement (which I think we've been seeing) rather than the boom and bust of previous regimes. I think we've got a real gem in Mark Robins. A man of vision, dicsipline and work rate. It comes across as if he actually eats, sleeps and drinks Coventry City, something we've not had for a long time. I could be wrong, but he needs a fair crack of the whip... by which I mean at least two seasons.

his contract is for 3 seasons, they said it is a three year project. Let's see if they can keep their word on one bloody thing.

The only thing we haven't had for about 11 years is some consistency .....

When was the last time we put faith in a manager, through thick and thin? Give it 12 months, and the first bad run of results will result in him kicking him out of the door

I support MR but I am starting to give up on the shotgun hiring and firing of managers, not to mention our fickle fans

What exactly is this 3 year project?

To make us the biggest team in the history of the blue square diamond, come on keep up, get with the plan. Also to break the Guiness book of records for turn over of SMT and managers. Finally to produce the finest a conveyor belt of academy players for the benefit of other clubs. Where have you been for the last 6 years for gods sake.
