So you would rather have 1 less point? What an odd fan you are
With a better mentality of going for things you would be better off over the season. We have been piss poor and weak this season but people are going on like we’re Spartans for getting a lucky point at Leeds. On another day we get smashed with that mentality. We are weak and our signings have been terrible, look at the table its where we will be at the end of the season.

some good points - and I’m not necessarily meaning today in terms of negativity, he is in the main good with setting the team up tactically for what’s in front of them, but what I’m saying is if we are aiming for top six for three out of five years then perhaps sometimes we need to be a bit more fearless? One point is better than none, sometimes three is there for the taking too…
If you can't enjoy today I feel sorry for you. And if you want 'fearless' football go and watch the Blues and see how it's working out for them...

not sure why you’ve singled this post out - where have I said I didn’t enjoy the game?

we have better players than Blues, and they haven’t stated they are a top six team, whereas we have.

if you are happy with fearing teams and playing for a draw then fair enough, and sometimes that’s necessary, but (and you obviously didn’t grasp my point) if we are saying we are a top six team we should be playing like one, meaning most teams should be worried about playing us, not the other way round.

What a great day. Fantastic point away at a Premiership team. Great support and some big displays.
They are not a premiership team that’s why they are in the championship.

We parked the bus which is what a tinpot relegation team do. Do you think any of the teams that got promoted last season would have parked it up, weak mentality that will never change.

Just to say to those that doubted we’d get anything from the Leeds game, I’m not one that was pessimistic when I saw the team sheet, I was hoping that being defensive might yield us something so I didn’t post anything regarding Robins’ selection but I can fully understand why some people thought that and why throughout the game there was a lot of negative comments.

On another day we would have lost that game 3-0 or 4-0 but we kept going and our defence was brilliant. I’m not one of those that was overly pessimistic about our chances but just to play Devil’s advocate I think it’s easy to take the piss out of those that thought we’d get nothing out of the game.

Also, absolute fair play to the squad and to the fans today, I couldn’t make it unfortunately but I just love how we show up every week no matter the price or the game. Honestly feel like within the next few seasons we’ll be in the Prem.

I’m sure the club are keeping close tabs on you too replace Robins as you seem to be a tactical genius

…you *to* replace

although I do agree, Robins isn’t tactically naive, but we do need a shift in mentality (club, fans, etc…) if we are to be taken seriously as a top six club with a realistic promotion shot.

I did think the playoff run would’ve done it but so far it hasn’t quite carried forward

A top 6 club doesn’t take all the creativity out the team and park the bus. A lot of you are totally deluded to where we’re at. Last season has gone, stop living off that. Look where we are in the league that us. Stop pipe dreaming.

Finally home. Would any of us have said no to 2 points if offered before Wednesday night?
No, if the alternative was nothing, but back at you - would anybody turn down three points?

better than nothing, but if you go into two games expecting nothing then you’re happy with anything more, albeit to be fair I would agree they are probably two of the best teams we’ll play all season

Don't like Leeds, scummy club scummy fans and scummy players.

Glad we got a point wish we got 3 with the chance that Palmer had.

And the late Brian Clough would agree with you.

The flip side of the argument is that the expectations have been too high this season after last seasons success . That is not to say we shouldn’t be expecting success but it needs to be tempered with the loss of our two best players and a huge overhaul of the squad. I think we will be comfortably top 10 this season and ,with another run like last season , an outside chance of the playoffs .
Next season is the big season for me , and yes there will be more pressure and accountability on Robins should we under achieve

As Thomas and Robins said to CWR, they had the direct, quick paced, impatient attack that Southampton lacked. We did look a bit overwhelmed at times with keeping them at bay. But after chasing the ball all night on Wednesday and having a day less to recover than Leeds did this week, and still come away with a point. Today in particular is a massive point, i’m pleased.

This is a season of consolidation and building, we lost two absolutely massive players. I’m not expecting play offs at all.

Back to the game, Simms had a good game on his own. Won plenty of balls but was hardly supported. Weren’t on here much but I presume he was getting pelters.
He really wasn’t , I think a lot of the fan base can see what he has to offer . Still needs a goal but he gives the team something going forward that none of the other forwards do

Agreed,
And Kitching and Thomas are forming a very capable defensive partnership.

fair, but I’d differentiate for some between mentality and expectation, I don’t expect we will get promoted this season, and like you I think we will be top half, possibly 10, and if things go our way after January maybe a late push

I would however hope that, despite realising this season will be difficult / different, the mentality is still there that we can beat anybody on our day - I honestly think that’s a big part of what is driving Ipswich at the minute, they have no ‘superstars’ but always look like they are going to blow teams away because they all believe they will

They were disappointed with their draw with Norwich today, which in the scheme of things is a good result but they don’t see it that way

hope that makes sense

Solid point. Robins learnt from the Ipswich game and has pulled two points this week. Not sure what his game plan will be for Sunderland.

Simms was good and well up for it. Good to see Tats get an assist and Thomas to be rewarded with a goal.

Horrendous away end. £50 for that is a travesty. One of the worst in the league for facilities and views. Leeds fans were decent but not as good as I expected. Wanted to stay away today but couldn't help myself. Don't think I'll go again at those prices.

Something not really mentioned was the performance from Ellis Simms I thought it was tremendous turning up right across the front line left side right side his first touch at last bang on, more games like that will do me.
My mate a Leeds fan singled him out for some praise after the game Screenshot_20231216_205749_Messenger.jpg

Typical CCFC to do that with one day less to rest when we’ve looked more sluggish having had a day extra in the past
