Robins just said the players 'need help'.

Yasin Ayari’s first goal for the Sky Blues helped to secure a point against Huddersfield Town at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Ellis Simms unleashed a ferocious effort which was tipped onto the bar by Lee Nicholls and came off Ayari and went into the back of the net.

Ben Wilson produced some fine saves in the second half to help secure the points and keep a third clean sheet of the season.

Quality reporting from the club
“However, Ayari’s first goal for the Club would prove to be enough, as City got back to winning ways against the Terriers.”

Pretty much sums up the night

But you are disrespecting them. Kelly's performance as a holding midfielder tonight was seriously good IMO. The team shape isn't working, the balance isn't right, but that shouldn't detract from the way he did his specific job.
I think Kelly can have a decent game here and there and is obviously key in the dressing room and played a very important role in our end of season run last year

I wouldn't have offered him a new deal. The comfort blanket of having him as cover stopped us going out for the midfielder we needed with or without Hamer's departure and that has lead to us having to play him next to a very similar style player in Eccles.

He bought the cards

I'm not saying you're wrong but managers have less say in who comes in nowadays. They usually tell the director of football what position they want and the DoF liases with the scouting team and owner and they bring a player in.

Shocking defending at the end - the entire back line went to pieces. Why bring Bidwell on to shore things up if that’s the result?

Ayari looks completely lost in the #10 position - if he can be moulded into an Aldi-level Hamer replacement in a deeper role then he has the talent to make a difference but otherwise it’s not working.

Wright has the pace and the strength, but not the feet. Would be nice if he could stay onside too. Hard to say he’s a £7 million player with a straight face at the moment.

Allen, Kelly and Simms were good. Atmosphere was dire.

Maybe think of it this way

We are prob in the worst shape we will be all season yet we are 5pts off playoffs and not losing many games. Close to winning quite a few too.

O hare Palmer sheaf mVE all to return yet. And possibly hamer replacement signing to come in January.

Things are probably only going to get better this season.

MR just said "but you play the cards your dealt"................
Surely he's talking about injuries. He couldn't have expected to lose Sheaf and Van Ewijk and Palmer all in very quick succession.

I think that's what he meant. He's saying at the moment he is having to utilise what we have available. Ayari looked a little lost and we didn't have much in the way of midfield substitutions from the bench.

We need Sheaf back soon. He is such an important player for us

I agree but think we also need a Gyokeres replacement...

Yep. Think it was DaSilva who put a perfect ball across the box in the first half and absolutely no one was there.
Just needs to look up then really ? No disrespect but if you've crossed it to nobody then you've not had a look ?

Disappointed and that game showed why Godden can’t play as a single striker.

The substitution should have been Godden for Wright as Simms looked lively.

The signing on Kitching looks more bizarre each game surely we could have found a midfielder with the millions we spent on him or done something radical like signing both.

Although all obviously weren’t in the ground that is a tremendous turnout for a Monday on sky

So far the Hull result is the only one where we’ve bettered the result from last season, correct?

I make it that we’re currently 5 points worse off than last season in the equivalent fixtures.

Seriously good, he got bossed for the entire second half.

People talking about Robins getting sacked. After that interview I reckon he’s more likely to walk than get sacked.
