There were reports it was to do with wage demands. Any idea who else we are looking at? Need 2 strikers in. Ideally one before next Saturday.

It shouldn’t be a wage issue. This looks like a transfer fee problem. But the reports say that the deal is still on. I am optimistic over this one. The sort of player who fits into the clubs chaos theory of attacking

Theres 2 reports doing the rounds. One Liege wants another £300-500k and another saying it’s accepted but negotiations between player and club going on.

Seems a shame if this doesn’t work out. Time is getting on and we need more options up front. Assume they’ll be a loan in this week though.
I wouldn't worry yet. I don't mind reading Saddlebrains ITK stuff, think it adds a bit of debate to the forum, but the hit rate is very 50/50. Hoping this is the duff 50.

If Standard have to pay 30% to his Romanian club it seems normal that they might want to get a few hundred thousand more.

Looking at his style of play and goals record he's more of a forward or second option than a goalscorer. He's involved in build up and creation. A tall, creative and mobile guy like him will drag players away from Simms/the #9 and create space.

He looks like he’d work well as one of the AMs

He’s clearly unknown along with Yakatomo - no one knows how he’d turn out playing in the championship - if Hamer goes I’d hope we’d use the funds to buy better

Both apparently. Leige want more as they have a large sell on due to his previois club, and the players not sold on a move to England as of yet

Could change of course but we know MR, and if he feels it wont go anywhere he wont hesitate to move on quick

No agreed. He would take time to adapt to the league and would be a gamble.

Hamer and Gyo didn’t arrive as the players they currently are, they developed into them over their time here. Likewise nobody we’re signing is going to be the finished article and will probably take a season or two to get to those levels if at all.

Perhaps people will need to be patient and accept this season is one for a bit of a reset.

Cool as you've said that we should be expecting him to be unveiled on monday

On holiday in Devon at the moment, but admittedly bumped into someone from the club yesterday, when I asked about Dragus I was told “it’s not close” and to be skeptical with the rumours surfacing online.

I was also told that Hamer bids had been rejected and the money being banded around for Hamer is double what we can offer.

That’s odd - I thought Hamer was rejecting any interest in the UK

Told the same about Dragus

Admittedly I didn’t ask whether interest was in the U.K. or abroad, hopefully the club stand firm on their valuation.

So let’s forget about him being homesick. We’re not going to offer £40-50k a week to him. Sell him to the highest bidder and reinvest. Got no time for sentiment.

I said this after the game yesterday, we should look to sell while his value is high and reinvest the money into the club.

As brilliant player as he has been, no one player is bigger than the club.

See a Romanian football account on twitter describe Dragus as lazy and not an easy character to deal with. Personally from the clips I've seen he doesn't remotely look like a striker. More a midfielder. Can't say I'm desperate for this one to go through.
