Was it even a clock? Do we know it’s not just a display showing squad numbers for something in the gym?

People are seeing what they want. Everyone is thinking about Hamer so they spot every mention and sew it together into a narrative.
I assume it was some kind of stopwatch. In another photo it had either the time or a stopwatch counter running.

The cone was obviously a choice which seems somewhat clumsy considering the speculation if it wasn’t supposed to be a hint.

You may well be right it just seems there are too many coincidences. I find it hard to believe they would bother to do little Easter eggs like that.

Can't see O'Hare being 'Back on the grass' at Ryton when all the coaches and physios I presume are out in Portugal. Doesn't ring true.
I would imagine this will happen next week or early August.

Doesn't stop him running round the Memorial park though does it,and we know how good those pitches are.

I'm happy that if any of our players are being 'touted' that the figures are at the 'top' end or beyond of any scale.' £16m rated Hamer' (if he does sign any extension, then that should be the ballpark for him if he maintains his run of form) instead of the paltry figures that used to be touted for our players. It either scares off suitors and we keep players, or enables us to build a better overall squad if and when we decide to sell.

Very common for players to stay behind and do rehab with development team and academy physios while the first team is out doing pre season camps.

That or St Georges as has already been mentioned.

Also looks like there is no grass currently at Ryton as it had been pulled up when I drove passed the other day.

Just hope this Hector Masalis tweets about Hamer staying are true. He’s the lynchpin to build around. Losing both Vik and Hamer in the same window would be bad.

Get new spirit

We came up from L2 to the Championship with team spirit that didn't involve Gus. We all know he's a great player, but he won't be here in 5 years time, all teams change players and new heroes emerge. As a football club we are heading in the right direction, and that is the most important thing. We'll just need to get used to the words of some new songs (fwiw, i hope we get another season of 'he's Brazilian')

If we lost Hamer I'd be really worried. Think there would be a real chance of a bottom half finish (although don't think we'd get relegated).

That is, unless we got lucky and managed to replace him with someone similar.

it’s the statement isn’t it. We have record season tickets sales and we have best part of 20m from Vik going. We don’t need to cash in on the best player in our team. We proved with keeping Vik in the January it almost made us 180m in the playoff final. If we sold him in the Jan we wouldn’t have got to the final.

What’s the intent of the owner and management as everything outside of them looks unbelievable. We really could be a Luton this season and finish 3rd.

The thing is, it is all about timing. Provided we strengthen other positions, then I can live with Gus going (would prefer a new contract and it happening in a year's time - but he won't be here for more than another season, unless we go up). Nobody wants to lose the feelgood factor about the club, and there are no guarantees in life/sport, but if you lose 2 stars, but improve 4 other positions with players on longer contracts, you may well benefit in the longer term. Can't see many posts now going on about Dom Hyam (sad though that was), and we move on. Going to be a lot of new faces one way or another, and the main thing is we support the team and enjoy the difference in quality and atmosphere, from facing Newport County and the like in L2 from not so long ago.

But might not guarantee promotion and we could lose a shed load of money. If Gus won't sign a new contract, we have to sell (sad though that is)

If he won't sign we have to sell unfortunately, would be madness to let a player of his ability leave for no money.

Just hope the club are doing all they can to keep him and not playing hard ball with the contract offer
