Agree not an expensive punt, but I thought Godders was only £350k initially. I think we paid about £750k after goals and appearances etc which of course he hit so we will have paid

It was £250k a season over 3 years. Hamer was £1m+

Yeah they always quote the higher fee so imagine it was the same with Hamer.

If he wants to go there isn't much we can do about it if our highest offer to him isn't enough. Such a shame as replacing him is going to be really difficult. The thing I don't want to see is him joining one of the relegated PL teams, and so ends up playing against us next season.

Hearing so many rumours he's off to Leicester, I guess it'll be like dominoes, as soon as they sell Maddison and Barnes - Hamer will be a done deal. He's keen to stay in the area apparently and is very keen on the move. 1000% wage increase too. Gutted.

Leicester are skint.

Players come and go, if the deals for Hamer and Gyokeres work for the club, the show must go on.

I trust the management to rebuild the team - we’ve had 2-3 such rebuilds since MR took over. New players will sign and new terrace heroes will emerge.

If we can be in a position where our team is overall more solid and with more depth. You’d have to take that as progression even if we lose the star quality of Hamer and Gyokeres. Two players that are undoubtedly Premier league quality right now.

Losing in the playoff finals really screwed us!

Hamer needs to be given a new improvement contract or I will definitely be thinking twice about renewing my season ticket. If you want to compete you have to pay the wages fuckjng simple.
But we can’t compete with Premier league teams or recently relegated teams financially. So it’s actually very simple, just not in the way you think it is.

You said the same about Burnley last year, a “skint” recently relegated Premier League club is still well off by Championship standards
Down another bloody rabbit hole again.. You’re right. Almost to the day.

We will have offered him a new deal, but it doesn't mean he'll accept it - (see VIk). What would you do if we keep Hamer and his career is ended in a pre-season friendly - throw your ST in the bin? We support the team, not individual players. People said the same about McNulty, and he barely gets a whisper a few seasons down the line. We all love Hamer, but we love CCFC infinitely more.

Gus has been brilliant for us. But we’ve managed to keep hold of him a lot longer than we were meant to.

Gus was originally an expensive punt by Sisu standards at the time, to come in for a £1m and by 18-24mo leaving for a substantial fee. That was the idea…

For him to have played 122 games for us and Robins turning him into a Rolls Royce of a player from that hot headed kid from Holland has been a joy to watch.

He turns 26 next week and he is a class above the Championship and deserves to play at a higher league. It’s a short career.

Sad to say goodbye when he goes, but he will depart as a City modern day legend.

I really hope hes worth at least triple this value it says on here

Rumours just in that Gus has signed a 2 year contract extension. Massive news if true.

Must be happening then - he said last week Gyokeres was having a medical in Portugal

Let’s see if he reveals where he got the info from.

Yesterday, Overson said he’s going to sit back and enjoy the next few weeks here. Who knows…
