He has been immense so far.

I was about ready to write him off at the start of last season, looked like he was done at this level.

I’d offer him a 1 year deal, think he would get a 2 year deal in League 1. The question is, would you offer him a 2 year deal to keep him?

Said this in the car on the way home , our biggest problem is going to be replacing him, absolutely bossing it this season 👍

Going be hard to replace .

We all know I have fadz posters on my ceiling , but seriously at his age he shouldn't be this good .

He's been rather outstanding this season so far

He leads by example. Not always the best defender but never gives less than 100% and guides/encourages the players about him. The sort of player you want in your camp when the going gets tough. Hyam and Clarke-salter/Rose will learn so much from playing alongside him. I would give him a contract to keep playing but also to help coach and guide our future defenders.

First half hour today he was outstanding.

By the end of the game he wasn't man of the match, that's how good we were today

The year is 2022, Osti has had an inexplicably crap season at Stoke, Brighton panic we pick him up on the cheap, send him to Yorkshire for a leadership workshop.... problem solved

He’s 34 but was playing for Alfreton (not full time?) until 23 and in the conference with Crawley at aged 24.

Players who become full time professionals late often play until older. Maybe it’s less strain on the joints during the younger years or maybe players who initially don’t make it appreciate it more when they do and don’t take things for granted.

in any case, I think Fadz might have a couple of good years left in him as a central defender. Those two Italian defenders did ok for their age in the EC.

As an out and out centre-half in a back three he’s brilliant commands that central defensive area brilliantly. Like a lot I was hoping Ostigard would sign and perhaps take over McFadz centre-half spot but I’ve been proved wrong on that one apart from his top defending McFadz carries the ball out and passes like a midfielder. Obviously considering his age a younger CB will be sought after but he’s going to take some replacing.

A man mountain right now. Simply irreplaceable.

Agree. He's just got better! At the moment the clumsy fumbles have dissapeared.

Where I worry about Mcfadzean is his recovery time between matches. Especially 3 games in a week.

For me he gets licence to just rest and recover between matches.

He lives in Sheffield and travels each day to ryton and back , which can’t help but he is really showing his commitment and leading the way

Isn’t that pretty much standard for players below the Premier League that they’ll travel instead of moving? He only got a 1 year contract
