We have to take these risks to improve the squad where we can

Pete, forgive me, but you seem to be very blasé about these kind of things in the last few months, far more so than 12-18 months ago. I don’t think we have to take “these risks” (which I read as hiring a bellend and employing someone who doesn’t cover our positional requirements) to improve the squad - I really don’t think he improves the squad sufficiently to counter the above.

He has baggage which has done his reputation in but in my opinion adds squad depth to the RWB and LWB areas which are a concern for us. Dacosta just isn’t the standard. This would have to be quite the calculated gamble by Robins.

Are we writing him off because of headlines or do people know exactly what happened and what was said?

“Todd admitted using the wording ‘diving, foreign *expletive*’ in response to being called an ‘*expletive* ugly, English *expletive*’.

It seems it wasn't something specific about ethnicity, just because he referred to him as foreign. Assume no-one on here has done anything similar. Or sung along to "dirty northern b******s"?

In what way does he provide cover at LWB? He’s played LB (so not even the position we need) once in over 200 pro games, and yet we think he’s some kind of utility man?

Fact is, if we’re playing WBs then we need to make sure they can play there properly - they are key to our entire system.

If he signed he would be looking to start. If he started we’d be pushing Dabo out of the side for someone who hasn’t actually played much as a wing back. The same applies if we start him anywhere else.

He played quite a few games at Hull at LWB, in fact scoring a goal from that position. But he is a RWB by trade. I’m saying he provides another option there but it isn’t the ideal solution for that position. I think we might be seeing more than one player coming in, especially if Shipley and Pask are on the move.

What I don't get is that it seemed he had a bit of an attitude due to not being first choice at QPR but I doubt we're telling him he'll start most games here either.

Seems like a big gamble.

I have a QPR supporting mate who text me saying apparently TK is coming to us, and said avoid at all costs, total c**t.

Can only assume AV is pushing for him because of the Chelsea links.

Or the fact he’s played 150 championship games…

Its quite amazing how many people on here have such a deep intricate understanding of an individual that they've never met or seen play.

Fair, I had filtered firstly for LWB and then for LB. Seems he’s also played LM 7 times. So out of his 215 pro games he’s covered in a similar position 8 times. Forgive me, still not sufficient cover in my book.

As others have also said, he seems to have a level of entitlement to not be satisfied being backup either.

You must be new here ;)

Just remember the experts on here thought that Moore was a waste of money and was going to be terrible

I quite enjoy reading about players we are linked with, people have so much to say with very little basis. Its like a political discussion

That's total bollocks, people expressed concerns that Moore looked poor in pre-season, which he absolutely did, they wernt sure if he was an upgrade on Marosi or if it was just a case of working to blow the rust off.
After 4 league games he now looks the part. That's the truth of the matter.
Sorry if that doesnt quite fit your hyperbole!

Absolutely not 😂 before he even kicked (or caught) a ball in pre season he was being slated as not good enough because he hadn't played for sheff utd in the premiership (who in the last seasons have had 2 international keepers) and people wanted us to sign Walton (again on no evidence)

All I'm saying is the same with this guy, if he signs then wait and see if he is good enough or not as no one on here would have seem him consistently enough to pass that kind of judgement

The thing is he was punished and served the ban
Providing there isn't a repetition it's case closed in law surely?

Fuck me, some of you lot on here

'im concerned about this signing'

My god. He had a bit of verbal with a player. So fucking what. Should be more concerned that we signed a player who's had 4 games in 3 years and had 2 contracts ripped up, who is also fucking AWOL as we speak.

Hes a championship quality Defender who can cover all across the back. For free. What more do you want?

I dont doubt that Kane is good enough, that's not the issue, the point is if he can integrate into the squad or not, by all accounts he's been ostracized at QPR.
And if his problems are not being happy at sitting on the bench down there, what's he going to be like sitting on the bench here?
He's not going to displace Dabo, so I can only see him being cover at best.
Another Pask maybe?

The difference is Bright was at least liked by fans and players last time.

This guy is hated by fans and players.

Judging by the more sensible comments on social media (shock I know) and their forum it seems as if there's a talented player in there but he struggles with consistency. I think he'd be a good addition as a back up as he seems fairly versatile.

Is he hated by the players?

The fans seem to have some weird agenda against him. I think he probably is quite arrogant - perhaps Chelsea syndrome - but if he had such a bad reputation surely Adi Viveash would put the breaks on bringing him in as I assume he would've coached him whilst at Chelsea.

We aren’t in a position financially to sign established championship players. Not sure what our fans expect sometimes.

This is realistically the best we can probably go for with the obvious risk he could be a ‘bad egg’. I’d imagine robins sees the positives (utility player and proven at this level) outweigh the risks.

So did Kevin kyle, doesnt mean hes a good player.

He didn’t he played for one club not 3.

He had only played 20 games in 3 seasons

He cost a fairly high fee

He was replacing our best player

There is no comparison
