Maybe I've spent too long on the internet, so desensitised to that kind of thing. years of seeing people hacked apart by a pick axe or chainsaw.

Same here, but the TV cameras were out of order by filming him/his wife.

Maybe so, my post was more in response to the cringey posts on here, grown men sat at home in the fetal position crying asking for the tournament to be cancelled. It's like some of them have never walked out their front door before.

I don't get the people who are putting in complaints to the BBC. There is an off button on the television, how many of them pressed it? I bet none of them.

Look at the bravery from the players, makes those peoples cowardice look even worse.

Thick twats complaining to the BBC when it’s not even their coverage that’s to blame

Win the group we play runners up from

Portugal
Germany
France
Hungary

So we could have a very very very tough match immediately after.

I basically think our tournament lies on what happens in the round of 16

Win that , who knows ...but it could be looking very positive

Just had an email from the England FA telling me to be respectful and not boo the knee.

I mean, I wasn't planning on it from one hundred miles away!

Liar, we all know you’re gonna do one of those videos in front of the tv.

Edit: and on the subject of the starting lineup, that is insane. I’ve got a lot of time for Southgate but he needs his head checking if he goes with that.

Ah you got me. Just been doing my booing practice in the garden!

Yep, I agree. Could see it coming ages ago so I'm not surprised. I just hope if certain players don't perform that he actually drops them in this tournament.

I had the same email, I haven’t been to an England game for 15 years.

Just when you think we're finally going to go into a tournament with a young exciting attacking team...

Not a fan of this rumoured lineup at all.

Mings is shite.
Playing a RB at LB with two good LBs in the squad
Bang average Phillips over generational talent Bellingham
Out of form Sterling over Sancho/Grealish

Every fucking tournament this happens!

Southgates make or break tournament for me, some great attacking talent at his fingertips, is he brave enough to use it ? If the Trippier at left back thing is true it seems an odd choice, maybe he sees him as the most disciplined full back and will protect Mings who needs protection.

I understand the frustration but got to be pragmatic & get the best out of what we have whilst also nullifying the opposition threats.

Croatia aren't quite what they used to be but are still excellent on the ball - a Midfield including Modric, Kovacic, Brozovic, Perisic etc. can dominate the ball against most sides. I think it would be incredibly naïve to expect Rice alone to handle that & if you stick Bellingham in rather than a natural DM like Phillips you're going to have to ask him to curb his natural enthusiasm to get forward which is what he's best at.

Sterling or Rashford have to start imo. I know both aren't in the best form but we need someone prepared to go in behind the striker, particularly as Kane drops deep himself. Nobody's better at that than Sterling.
Otherwise you'll just find Croatia, with their slow backline, will just sit in a low block & be incredibly difficult to break down.
Grealish will get plenty of game time throughout the tournament.

The only issues I have with the supposed lineup are Mings & Trippier, just don't understand the rationale there at all.

We got absolutely over-run in midfield by Croatia when we only played 1 holder at the World Cup. Phillips is a good player as well.
