The opening game is basically a metaphor for the whole season

Without reading all the pages (so sorry if it’s been said) the Rotherham game is key. We win that I reckon we’ll be fine, we lose, we are well in the shit. Draw, it’s a scramble til the end...old school city. Players have got to suck it up and start delivering. They can do it if they believe.

Ps don’t want to piss anyone off but let’s keep all this in perspective of what we have all been through (country/world) in the last year or so. The tv money this season has saved us. I don’t want to go down but worst case scenario, we build again and bounce back. It’s what we do

The last time we went down from this league says otherwise Steve.

KEEP THE FAITH ✊
We just need to do what Birmingham did tonight and what we did against Brentford. Harry, close down, chase everything and play each game as if it is a cup final.

Birmingham are a poor side, but they never gave Swansea time to settle. Not for a single second.

What we lack in quality we need to make up for in energy and spirit and bodies on the line.

I think we will see a quite different looking City on Monday.

Because there will have to be a reaction and that is what does happen in football. You play absolutely terribly, the manager kicks ass, or changes things. You get a reaction.

If we don't, there is something seriously wrong.

There has been no reaction for weeks. Yet you, and some others on this forum keep putting the blinkers on.

The first time I warned about us sleepwalking into relegation was January. It was met with people largely taking the piss and saying 'yeah but next week'. Look at us now. We are a complete joke.

We had two weeks to get ourselves in a good position to try and get some points on the board, yet we go concede after 90 seconds and fail to score again.

We are getting relegated. It's bad enough, but certain people like you just sitting there fiddling with your cock is just plain stupid. It has been entirely preventable too, which is what pisses me off the most.

And posters have been saying since January that we are getting relegated.

And yet, here we are, at the begining of April and STILL above the relegation places.

Looking like we couldn’t buy a goal and hoping Rotherham lose every game. Something changes or we go down

Hello Dongo.
Hello Dick Boy

😂😂That was actually a genuine typo which is concerning as to why my predictive text reverts to that, considering AI technology means it reverts to words you use commonly!!

Hello Sick Boy, apologies for the above

There were two great results for us yesterday. Rotherham and Wycombe.

Wycombe winning was unexpected, but a very positive result, because Rotherham and Wycombe now meet next and a Wycombe win there would put Wycombe just 3 points behind them. What an incentive that is for them.

You would have thought Rotherham home banker a few days ago, now the whole picture has changed. Wycombe fighting for their lives and surely there very last chance to get out of this mess.

Lose and they will be 8 points adrift and dead and buried, as that is even just to catch third from bottom. Win and they are just 3 points behind.

Be a very interesting game.

Totally agree with that. I don’t think Rotherham are as good as many seem to think they are. They will battle under Warne but like us and Wycombe they are League One quality. I can see Wycombe winning at Rotherham on Monday. We meanwhile need to hold our nerve now. Wycombe, ourselves and Rotherham we’re always going to be at the bottom 4, this season, due to simple economics I’m afraid.

If we get relegated what will you say?

'Oh I didn't see that coming.'
You can't say we are relegated in January and you can't say we are relegated in April with 8 games still to play.

We get in the bottom 3 with just a few games to go and we are say 3 or 4 points adrift, then I will be saying we look certain to go down.

We are still clear of the relegation places and still have 8 games left.

Things have to change though.

No, but you can say things are extremely concerning, which obviously turned out to be correct. As someone said on another thread, we have scored 12 goals in 21 games. It's not like it's happened overnight.

I'm not sure why there is an insistence by some to just pretend we aren't in deep shit right now.

For comparison, Wycombe have scored 14 in that time period, Sheffield Wednesday have 20 and Rotherham have 23

I can't think of one person who thinks we're not in trouble.
I can think of several who predicted a relegation battle and now seemed shocked that we're in one

It's been that way all season, other teams and their players have been labelled as shit and their signings labelled overpaid and not good enough while defending players who are barely League 1 standard.

I think what gets to most people is the lack of passion or desire from the players, it's seriously lacking and we're going down without a fight.

I think I'm at the point where a Huddersfield win and finding form before they play Rotherham next weekend isn't necessarily a bad thing

Huddersfield play decent football. Hoping they are on the beach by the time we lay them.

That's just sort of giving a free excuse to our shocking performances. No one said this year would be easy, but actually I think it has been easier than predicted. We are fucking it up ourselves and it's parody sometimes.

As said above, the lack of fight by players and management is infuriating.
