Was going to say it, the dorm is the only place I ever really drink it. I prefer the Red tbh but the green goes down OK. My favourite spanish lager is Cruzcampo, once found a little bar selling it (possibly quite close to the Sol Pelicanos) it is much better than San Miguel / Estrella. Estrella Galicia is good too.
Amazing how SM and Estrella are regarded as "premium" over here (and at greatly inflated prices!) when over there it's just normal run of the mill lager. Some-one has good Marketing skills!

We stay at a villa in Quesada , about 40 mins from Alicante and the local supermarket sells a lager called steinburg It’s a 330ml can ideal for round the pool . It’s €6 for a case of 36 last tine I was there

Beer52 offering 8 craft beers (and with Beer52 they should be good quality breweries) for £5.95 (including postage), for new customers only.

Well worth a go, especially if you fancy trying something different.

Already a member, so that lets me out!
Generally very happy with the selections, and the accompanying magazines. Had one or two duffers though.

I like HonestBrew as well - a few mates use it and I’ve always been impressed with the selection. Always going to get the odd duffer unfortunately but at least you know what you don’t like!

This month's Beer52 Selection Box just turned up. Last month was all Melbourne/Victoria stuff. This month they've stayed mostly UK and Ireland, with a Californian thrown in for good measure.
Always loved the standard cask Jaipur (biased, as we're friends of the couple who own Thornbridge Brewery - they were married in Jaipur, hence the name) but haven't tried this variant yet.
Maybe Friday.View attachment 18599

Signed up for the Beer52 new customer deal under my partners name, and received this exact same box!

Looking forward to the DDH Jaipur and the Siren pale (they are one of my favourite breweries). I will keep the pale bitter for a last resort when I have nothing else left!

Neighbour very kindly dropped in a few craft ales following today’s result.

Klute by Williams Brothers (from Aldi) was a very pleasant surprise, I was expecting a standard IPA but it has a subtle lemon flavour to it - very nice, and a quick Google tells me it’s only 99p - bargain.

I have also had Lemon Dream by Salopian, which was one of my favourites when I first started drinking ale. Very excited to see it in my local Coop and it still tastes very nice, especially as it’s a cask and I prefer craft these days.

battered that the night we got relegated from the Premiership. Nearly got ran over after climbing out the back window of my mates missus car.

I feel like having some tonight. The missus summed it up watching the game with me, you can't vent at home because there's no outlet unless you want to get sectioned by your neighbours

Strictly speaking not a beer so.....

But considering the circumstances it’s fully justified.

Just reminds me of nights/holidays before responsibilities existed and nights out were ridiculously messy!

I've never actually tried it but all I've got in the fridge is Birra Moretti

First time on it. Very nice.
Might crack out the ouzo later, now you mention it, but it never tastes the same when not taken on a broiling day overlooking the Aegean.
Roll on the day we can do that again.

Nothing like having a huge dinner for 10 euros with complimentary everything thrown in as well and lovely hosts. Hopefully 2022 it'll be possible.

Love a Thornbridge beer, though Jaipur not one of my favourites.

Now, a Salt Bonneville.
Never tried it, but as an erstwhile Triumph Bonneville owner, I guess I should've!
No added fruit salad, but a very similar profile to the previous one, if slightly hoppier.
Again, like it. 20210213_184037.jpg

Klute is great value, quite hard to get hold of in Aldi as it sells quickly

Some Peaky Blinder pale ale from a brewery in Stourbridge. Not great, should have known better given the gimmicky name.
It's Sadlers, I don't think it's brewed there any more as it was bought out by a northern company. The peaky blinders range is cringey. They used to make some decent ale and still do in the form of Mud City Stout, but since the takeover they've been flogging the Peaky horse

I’m on buds tonight but I’ve ordered my wife some cocktails from a company called thirst things first

Nipped in to get some Klute from Aldi and picked up another I hadn’t seen before; Brut IPA by 10 4 Brewing. Can’t find much about the brewery other than they’re exclusive to Aldi.

Brut IPA is a relatively new concept, but it is as it sounds; beer thats brewed to share similar characteristics to champagne, predominantly to be dry tasting. It won’t be for everyone, but it was surprisingly good, well balanced with the “champagne” flavours coming through in the aftertaste.

Unfortunately I only got to taste half the can before my daughter knocked my glass over. Good excuse to get another for tomorrow!

I wasn't dead keen on it but it isn't bad

New one tonight; Small Giant by Stewart Brewing, an American Pale.

Not the best, fairly bitter for a pale ale and no distinctive taste. Annoying as the can is pretty cool!
