Just googled it - had forgotten the sequence of scoring. No wonder we enjoyed it.

I must admit I hadn't remembered we were 3 0 and 4 2 down. We had no fit central defenders and I think we played Roberts and Yorath there with Beck at right back. We had no choice but to attack. I remember the Wallace and Mcdonald goals and their saved penalty.

The next match, 3 0 against Man U was great too. Still no fit central defenders. Remember Yorath's goal when he ran the length of the pitch. This was when Ferguson and Wallace were so strong for us. Great early memories there.

Not my favourite, but I remember one, I think against Sunderland. Draw and not great, but I remember Dublin getting sent off for something right at the side of the pitch. Think that was festive period.

I remember us beating Sunderland 2 1 in terrible conditions around festive time and playing really well. Bizarrely a couple of players I didn't rate at all played really well that night, Ashley Grimes and Graham Withey.

Ray Pointer playing only his 3rd game scored a hat-trick with George Hudson and George Curtis adding the other two.
A snow covered pitch and very bright orange ball. 3rd place finish that season.
Perfect start to a New Year - Here's hoping.

Turns out it was Feb. Just felt like Xmas!

I'm no oil painting but fuck me, man for man that was the ugliest away support I've ever seen at a football game.

Can remember that Arsenal game vividly despite only being 6. I remember having a giggle because David Seaman almost slid into the post. McDonalds Family stand massive.

My favourite Christmas was beating Villa 3-0 and Liverpool 5-1 before selling Rosario

My mate got taken out of the ground from the west terrace for celebrating on the wall. Police fingerprinted him and made his dad pick him up. We’d gone for drinks with a teacher who was a Liverpool fan. Such fun

My Xmas memory happened 36 years ago today. We were away at Filbert Street. Crap game. Lost 5-1. Afterwards, although we could literally see our car where it was parked, the police outside the ground wouldn't let us go to it, they herded us all around the ground with the rest of the City fans.

My main memory though is Bobby Gould who, for some reason, ran into the pitch from the touchline, flailing his arms everywhere. Something upset him. Never found out what though.

There was all sorts getting thrown. From both sides and at the police down.

not just the score but took a young disabled lad an Everton fan - had prearranged parking and Police had it all in hand we were only 50 yards from gate. inside players came and chatted presented him with a shirt. shame about the result I lie - but i was v happy

Remember queueing outside the HR ticket office in the freezing cold the day before we played Middlesbrough in the 90s, the queue was so big club staff brought out hot chocolate for everyone. No idea what the eventual match was like but that was always a nice memory

And was still 100 times better than Sandy Robertson who we bought instead as we haggled over the price and Wolves snapped him up. I know he subsequently suffered with injuries but eventually settled at Southampton, not sure what happened to Robertson & can't remember him playing much for us.
