Robins has always gone for first team quality cover in every position, so 6 central defenders makes sense. Pask can also cover for holding midfield.

Are we getting in anyone with experience at playing at Championship level or above? Looking at our squad the lack of experience at the level is frightening. Only Fadz I think has played a decent number of games in the Championship. Highlights the pitiful budget our owners have given MR tbh.

I guess we could sign a team of joe Cole and Stephen hunts they’d tick your box

What do you expect? Our budget is the lowest and we have to buy accordingly. I’m happy to live within means it does make it more and more important to play in coventry and maximise income

Is it Dacosta who has the torn ACL that was being suppressed by the club?

Well theyve not specified ACL but have said "Ligaments"

I would much rather a signing like this, than the likes of Morgan Fox that was being banded about a few weeks back. Imagine striker cover could be a loan again, but I trust Robins to sign someone good.

We need depth in the squad - the games are going to be coming thick and fast due to how things have had to be re-jigged.

I'd say there's a chance Drysdale, Thompson, Williams all feature as well as Fadz, Hyam, Rose, Pask ...and now Osti!

Possibly one of Thompson or Williams out on loan but I have a feeling we'll need a lot of numbers

Allen has played there too. It's funny listening to you Trust / Council types. On the one hand you're correctly pointing out that SISU should have run the club better and it shouldn't have made significant losses from 2007 to 2013 (particularly in the Championship era) yet on the other you're expecting them to stretch the wage bill to unaffordable levels. This signing has played Bundasliga 2 which isn't a bad standard, and you've yet to see him play in any case. Give it a rest you tiresome berk.

Really good quote from hugely respected magazine France Football as one of ten players from the U-20s WC in Poland to keep an eye on.

The piece read: “For the Norwegians, it is tempting to remember Erling Haland, top scorer in the competition with nine goals. The problem, they were all scored against a puppet opponent, Honduras.

“Rather than this striker, it’s more worthwhile taking an interest in central defender Leo Ostigard, who has a classic profile (solid in duels on the ground and in the air) but also has real keenness in his passing. Capable of extremely precise long balls, something which shows real technical ability, Ostigard is remaining patient in the antechamber at Brighton, waiting to debut in a Premier League which seems made to measure for him. Or maybe it’s the other way around…”

Lot of positive feedback about this one so fingers crossed. Likely means 1 or 2 of the young lads can be loaned out whilst dacosta recovers hopefully by the new year. Then we can see where we stand and what we need to do in the window.

A defender well we are really short of those

Without knowing how good he is, we do need an extra, good defender back there - particularly as we are bound to pick up knocks, suspensions during the season. Not sure why you don't think we do (assuming your post was sarcastic - apologies if it wasn't).

Great signing, another reason to be optimistic about the season.

But let’s turn it into a why haven’t we signed a striker / our budget is shit thread. As of course, this signing clearly means we now won’t be signing a striker.

Pask can play DM, RB and CB; he’ll get a chance. Plus, if he’s good enough (which I think he can be) he’ll force his way through regardless (unless he gets injured again).

Where does this leave the likes of Pask? Not part of the development squad, not a right back apparently and now likely to be 5th choice centre back. Needs games somewhere?
Let's see where Pask plays at the weekend STP
I've always thought he could play CDM
He's hard in the tackle, got pace and likes to score goals

Social media should havw done more on the name play considering Messi transfer saga

Not eimporbtly however robins seems genuinly excited about this one!

So that's defence sorted?

1 DM and 1 striker needed now

If Jones and jobello ca get it done in AM I guess we don't need another

We do however need a DM or deep playmaker incase hamer or Kelly every injiroed or suspended

Would love Walsh back!
