It's interesting to see someone who was calling everyone a c**t last night for daring to say a bad word about Johnson while he's ill also find it funny to take the piss out of people dying from lack of ventilators. But then again that's classic Tory ain't it, protect their own and fuck the peasants.

i said it to two people and at present we are coping with capacity and ordering more. Gallows humour actually exists every including the NHS and funeral directors

to be fair to Grendel he didn't say he found thousands of people dying funny in the same way that yesterday neither PVA or anyone else said they wished harm on Johnson.

I know it's an emotive subject and these are tense times but it doesn't do anyone any favours to try and interpret innocuous comments as malicious or to read an intent into them that isn't there.

Might be helpful if we all reigned it in a notch.

Right, so just to make sure I've got this correct.

Take it on the chin = disgusting, horribly out of order, got to be a massive c**t to say that

Operation Last Gasp = gallows humour, bloody hilarious, great banter

You've absolutely lost the plot, probably best to log off for a few days.

Ah yes, I'm sure if someone had made a joke about Johnson yesterday you totally wouldn't have lost your shit.

I haven't heard it said, but Operation last gasp, I would take to mean in the context of ventilator supply, they are meant to provide air & oxygen to the lungs, no more need to gasp for air.
Why do people analyse every little thing Boris says and read the worst possible meaning into it?

tbf (and I agree that some comments recently have been a little OTT) it's more an example of Johnson reverting to terrible humour rather than having a policy.

Now personally I could see why he might just make a quip to relieve tension, it might be his way of coping with stress, so I'm not going to get hung up on it, but it does fit with the narrative that we need a politician rather than a comedian in charge.

That being said, they have an uncanny knack of nominating people I'd like less than their predecessor, so I'd rather Johnson than Raab! I also think, in a situation like this, the country needs a leader, a figurehead. To not have one puts us at crisis point psychologically. I hope he gets well soon, for his sake, and for the country's.

Now, if everyone could just take a deep breath (ahem) for ten minutes and stop attacking one another, it'd be lovely.

Yes, to give him his due that is the sort of gallows humour that i'd probably say in that position (and i don't think this was meant for public consumption), i think people can be a bit sanctimonious at times. I'd put at Johnson's door the under funding of the NHS and wider public services.

he didn’t say either

take it on the chin was a doctored video on an interview on good morning and I’ve put up the full transcript as has someone else

the operation last gasp was alleged to be said in a conference call with 60 companies regarding ventilators. One of these allegedly said this comment was made and oddly this person is anonymous and “leaked” the comment to politico.

As far as I’m aware no one else can remember the comment so I think we can conclude he didn’t - my point if he did (which it seems is not likely) it’s hardly encouraging mass deaths and is a parody of a war operation naming - it’s not a hanging offence

No he didn’t say it all (I assume it’s the this morning interview) he didn’t say operation last breath (would have been a pretty funny one liner but hey) and he did t shake hands it was just a Pr visit and statement - one not dodged it and showed other leaders doing the same thing
No. It was a Coronavirus daily news briefing with a very red faced (not sure if it was anger or embarrassment) Chris Whitty stood next to him having immediately to explain hand washing again. It’s only had a link put up for you three times in the last 24 hours but you keep sticking your fingers in your ears pretending everyone is talking about an interview on this morning, it wasn’t. Just to recap he said it on an official Coronavirus virus news conference with Chris Whitty stood next to him.

That woman went way too far and got booted out, whats the objective of sticking that up aside from to cause more aggro- what point are you making

Odd as you frequently provide obscure links to things which have no relevance at al

I did actually check this person was not of ethnic origins so you couldn’t start attempting the race card drivel as you did with that twat who was at a funeral

Great example!!!!! Look at Twitter and the hundreds of right wing so called decent Conservatives saying this lady is 'evil' and saying she should be hung drawn and quartered. Even more disgraceful than what this potentially idiotic councillor allegedly to said. Tory worshipping snowflakes!
That's impossible mate, no right winger has ever wished death upon anyone in the history of the human race according to Grenners.

He made a throwaway remark regarding shaking hands - big deal,

Operation last gasp was bollocks as 59 of the 60 people on the call have not said he said it and if he did it would have been funny
If it’s no big deal can you explain your meltdown last night?

Operation last gasp would have been funny? I’ll be sure to laugh with your blessings then if Boris dies from this. It’s all right I’ll refer to it operation last gasp was a success then and we can all have a good laugh about it.

He suggested this was one course of action and not the policy

this

Boris Johnson said the UK should take coronavirus "on the chin" - the only 4 reactions you need

Became this

Boris Johnson's position on coronavirus has been misrepresented by an out of context clip - and it must stop

and was actually this
Here is the transcript of what Boris Johnson said on This Morning about the new coronavirus

10 posts Tony - show me the meltdown - even NW and FP acknowledge its gallows humour and harmless

Christ are you just being intentionally thick now? Tony is pretty clearly talking about the hand-shaking quote yet you keep ignoring it because you know you're wrong and you're unable to admit it.
