I've been out running twice in 3 days, not commuting has given me the time to do it.

That said, not sure if anybody else is the same but I'm finding I am drinking more at home. Not loads but most nights I'll have one or two. On the plus side, with Greggs, greasy spoon cafes and the Chinese Chippy closed my diet is better.

Trying to keep that line between week and weekend as far as drinkings concerned.
Worked up to now.
The plan for today is bit of DIY, run and then a family skype/FaceTime type thing and another day is filled!

I'm piling on the pounds now, I'm used to walking about 10 miles a day at work, I haven't changed my diet at all but now not doing the work to burn it off.

Can't wait for the spin bike to turn up.

I'm down 3 stone 8 pounds since Jan 1st, fitter than I've ever been, right at the time a lethal worldwide pandemic descends upon the world :)

This didn't go to plan - tanned a load of cans last night!

Had not drank prior to getting ill and not done since so in total probably about 5 weeks at least. Illness made me drop half a stone but be building back up on the bike. Did a quick 30 yesterday and off to do the same this morning, quiet roads, no one about, it’s great!

Big debate in the cycling community at the moment on the duration of exercise. See some smash out 80 milers constantly, for me I consciously reduced my mileage as I think the ‘spirit’ of the exercise concession is to allow you out for a decent workout but still try and limit movement. Others are saying there are no guidelines, they are isolated on the road so they can do as many miles as they want. Whilst I agree there isn’t a time limit it feels wrong being out for 4 hours when we are all supposed to be limiting our travel.

I'd agree. I think a 60-90 minute blast is acceptable but a 4-5 hour, 80-100 miler is taking the piss and carrying on as if everything is normal.

I'd say your immune system is probably weakened after that much strenuous excersise which probably isn't ideal at the moment.

The issue is that they just don’t think it’s wrong. The issue is that this concession will just get pulled and we all suffer as a result

Can they not go on that pelaton? That looks great
Not the same as being outdoor especially in this weather. I use zwift during the week which is great especially for bad weather but this week has been perfect cycling weather. Just don’t want to take the piss and ensure that we can all keep going during this time and avoid a Italy style lockdown. Sadly that might be inevitable

Zwift looks class, i'm going to get a subscription once I can afford a turbo trainer.

Had my spin bike cancelled a couple of days ago, and can't find a reasonably priced one in stock anywhere, having the same issues trying to find a turbo trainer too.

I've got some weight but need something for cardio, walking just isn't cutting it.

You should look into barbell/dumbbell complexes mate. Plenty of articles knocking about and vids on youtube as well.

Did half an hour with a resistance band before going for a run.
No substitute for weights but overall a decent enough work out in the circumstances
