Fees are never paid in full upfront. There will be a payment now and further instalments plus add-ons depending how his career progresses.

Its another example of something that is standard across football but seems to upset our fans every time it happens.

Will br stuff likr 10 appearences
5 assists
5 cleansheets
5 goals
England call ups
Hopefully a sell on fee!

I imagine. Some easily achievable. Some not so much

Fair play too all concerned, McCallum has done well to warrant a move, we've made loads of money and Norwich have signed a great prospect we'll all make money on again in the future.

We've had about 6 mill in from Bayliss and McCallum, with the likes of Rose, hyam and Shipley still contracted. Still have one of the best left backs in the league in Mason too.

Hopefully allows us to make a permanent move for Walsh and/or O'Hare.

Good deal for the club, also not sure about the loan back. Hopefully we can now bring in a decent striker, and maybe a cheeky bid to sign walsh on a permanent deal.

It's a much better move for McCallum than going to somewhere like Liverpool.

It’s got to be better for us as well. Assuming he progresses we can get another payday from him whereas had he gone to Liverpool I couldn’t see another payday.

Where's that plonker who said he'd do no better than non league or something?

Wasn't it somebody who didn't like him because they were mates with Camwell and his dad?

Ironic really considering Camwell is now playing against people playing for a hobby.

Ah well, good luck to him. Surprised he didn’t get his dad to phone up yesterday after missing training saying he has a cold......

Whilst I understand where you are coming from... Maddison was simply part of a team in freefall. Therefore, it's either this or:
i) unproven LB comes in on loan with no understanding of how the team plays;
ii) morning Junior, come back from Scunny... all is forgiven.

I know which option I prefer.

iii) proven left back in Mason plays with back up provision from the impressive player in the reserves whose name escapes me

Depends whether the clauses are realistic though, whether they're worthwhile or not. Only getting the majority of the cash when Norwich win the Bundesliga wouldn't be very helpful to us...

Good business for someone who has played half a season. Not sure about the loan thing, not because of form, but because we already have a ready made - and great - replacement. I think Robins should start playing Mason a little more now.
I agree with this, Mason was in good form when McCallum took his place. They obviously thought Sam was ready for the first team to play him but i also feel that he was in the shop window for obvious reasons. The clubs situation makes this a necessary evil.

The whole team were shit when Maddison returned.
Different this time.

The wheels were starting to fall well before Maddison deal was done.

We took 1 point off walsall and Burton at home then got smashed at Southend. Before he was sold.

I bumped the thread earlier. Hasn't proved it yet as he hasn't played a game at that level, apparently.

He has joined a bigger version of us a team that take a chance on young players some will work others won’t. I hope it does or I guess we don’t see a lot of the money

The first one indicates that I'm shocked that you've turned up.
The second on indicates that I'm laughing at you.

All in good fun though mate.

I don’t think I have ever been away and I am not sure that I have ever denied what I said.

will be heading off in a minute though as I need some sleep.

Good luck to him. Successful deals like this for our younger players can only do wonders for our academy recruitment system, surely a young player with the option of choosing us and a number of other clubs will look no further than our academy and u23's in the future.

Seems a decent deal. He'll probably go out on loan again next year .
Norwich already have some good young full backs so he's probably in as cover for when they sell Aarons for a huge fee in the summer.

I don't get this at all. Do you not think 22 year old Brandon Mason would be a saleable asset? He's not a 30 year old, he's young himself. Robin's has picked who he thinks is the better player.

One thing i i will say os thank god he went Norwich a club he will actually have a chance to develop unlike.

Leicester-thomas

Two forgotten men there, I thought Stevenson looked reasonable early on but never got Thomas at all I didn’t really know where he was supposed to fit in.
