Even so, they have some of the answers we are after. They met with wasps and apparently questioned them about it recently.

They won’t tell us though will they. Who would they open up to? Can someone go to a meeting and get answers?

Sorry. Having a nightmare day and am a bit on edge.

I think the trust are a busted flush. They’ve pissed Sisu off too much and frankly are pretty childish. I’d rather bypass them.
Sadly, they are still the "go to group" for any media that aren't half aware of what has gone on, and obviously media chums with CovTel and CWR.
They do not get by-passed sadly, a lot now are becoming aware of how they are working, and also who with!!

.....it's too quiet (trust/cov tel) for the indemnity to have been removed or worked around.... if it has, there are no massive obstacles for us to return to The Ricoh... other than ourselves (CCFC)... and if that was the case, the usuals would be whipping up a frenzy against ccfc/SISU

Really think Linell might have been just a bit ignorant to the situation and not fully up to speed.... there is a lot to get heads around! Somebody said Clive DID mention ind6being an issue on Weds...

Either that, what with the (although not unusual) silence from Trust/tel, that something weird (god knows what though...) is going on...
Rumours of Ricoh firm moving offices (anybody noticed red signs not been on for ages?) Rumours of Vodafone pulling out of naming rights due to no CCFC?
Who knows.....?

Check out this property to rent on PrimeLocation!

They are still trying to let out the office space, still not sure who the previous occupants were. It is too quiet. This time last year the trust were counting down to homelessness after every game and making a fair bit of noise. Now there is no desire to find anything out.

Next Friday Linnell will day his sources confirm what he’s already been told and Dave Boddy is denying it but won’t debate with him

What's the point? They met with wasps and apparently asked these questions, what was said? They have some answers to these questions.
Not difficult is it. If you're meeting Wasps on behalf of fans question 1 is to confirm there is an indemnification requirement and question 2 is how is that reasonable.

If those weren't the first questions asked then whatever meeting they had, details of which it appears are being kept secret from trust members, was a complete waste of time.

Is this part of a PR strategy from Wasps to make themselves look like the good guys ahead of any return? Oh look what we did to get the club back in Coventry...

When in fact, any remedy imposed would be the council’s fault. It would be more reasonable for the council to indemnify wasps, but that would probably be viewed as state aid.
Exactly, Wasps knew the situation when they purchased the arena. Its inconceivable their lawyers didn't bring it up. If anyone should be providing indemnity for Wasps it should be the council given that it will only cost Wasps money if CCC are found to be in the wrong.

I read the article I posted a link to and it often seems that central government take the punishment and fines, there are situations where the “beneficiary” could be charged and have to repay the benefit plus interest but what is the benefit?
A discounted sale price, hard to judge when it open market tested with other parties and if CCC could prove that SISU would meet that same amount then arguably, not discounted.

But it was never offered to SISU on the open market, was it?

Correct, it would indeed be the fault of the council. I don't believe the public understands this necessarily

It wouldn't as long as it was pre agreed in a contract, there are indemnity clauses in public contracts.

You can only assume either Wasps lawyers made huge mistake and didn't cover that off which in inconceivable to me. Not like this is something that has come up years later, they would have known at the time what was going on.

The other option is the council refused to cover indemnity, in which case you have to question why and also why it should then be down to us.

Due diligence cockups not new. Both parties too eager to get the deal done?
Doubt anyone thought all this was going to end up being judged in the EU legal system when they signed the deals.

Well oddly Linnell said once his sources said 3 times. I think his source is not very reliable

They're rather stupid then, SISU applied for JR1 in 2013 over what is essentially the same issue.

Was my text... he doesn't seem to have a clue. (Note - this was to Clive on today, not Stuart, who was in the midst of the discussion on Friday)
Text was as below:
CW Clive, what do you know about the indemnity being asked for by Wasps stopping CCFC returning to the Ricoh? Some saying not an issue any more...Many saying there IS STILL an indemnity clause asking that CCFC pay if anything found a-miss in EU complaint... if it gets that far. Why should CCFC foot any bill that should be between Wasps/council. Eastwood said that Wasps would welcome CCFC back if legals dropped. He/you/everyone knows they cant drop EU complaint. (Which isn't even against Wasps! It's against Council!) CCFC signed to say they would not litigate against Wasps. Complaint is against council. Wasps MOVED the goalposts by inserting indemnity and saying no deal. CCFC CANNOT do anything to change stanz/back down. WASPS CAN!

Can understand if people are nervous about going on the radio or phoning up but there is a phone in tomorrow aswell isn’t there 6pm?
Does anyone (must be calm and reasonable) fancy taking on the mantle again by phoning up Monday during the phone in?

As the local radio sports reporter, if he is to have any credibility, he really should make it his mission to get to the truth of the matter.

Id give it a bash but I don’t finish work until 6 and my car Bluetooth makes it sound like I’m a robot down a well. Happy to have a go next Friday or after a game though.

A nice low effort thing would be to tweet at all the local reporters daily asking the question. Flood their mentions and it might at least provoke a response.

Presumably then as soon as the trust came out of that meeting they verified what Eastwood has claimed with an expert or did they just take a known lier at his word?
