Basically I want to see better services then tax cuts and businesses starting to pay a fairer share into the tax pot then what they have been doing for the last twenty years or so.

Exactly how I feel mate. Totally lost faith in all politicians.
Add the fact that this is a GE that's going to be voted solely based on brexit. Education, NHS etc will take a back seat.
Can't be arsed with it all now.

Only has to be about that if people let it.

If you want to know what each party will offer on the other areas then look in their manifesto.

I pay more tax already in Scotland then equivalent in ROUK

if you want tax cuts why would you vote labour or SNP?

that won’t be hard as they only have 1 seat ...

I think they are deluded thinking they’ll pick up 100 seats. They will only make seat gains in mostly Tory marginals (which explains some of their antics recently) - their aren’t many LD/Lab marginals, though they may close the gap in some London seats.

Think whatever happens Labour needs to win back a good proportion of the West of Scotland to get anywhere to tipping the balance in a General Election.

Labour are toast in Scotland.

They need to win seats in middle England, the shire counties, and that ain't happenning with Corbyn in charge.
I expect Johnson to have a majority of well over 50 come Dec 13th.

I will say that Swinson has a fair pair Boobs though

I didn't say I wanted tax cuts, just businesses better taxed to offset the damage caused by commerce which lead to austerity.

You think Corbyn will lose Islington? Can't see any chance of that happening.

He's been in since 1983 and has a 33K majority on a 55K turnout (up from 21K in the previous general election). The total electorate in that seat is only 75K.

Nonsense Clint. We won’t ever move to a US model, the country would never accept it. I usually take on board what you say on various threads but this is just scaremongering

The Tories will put it in the manifesto along with other promises to shaft different sections of public services

Dom will vote for them

Dom will wonder where the police and doctors have gone

Dom will pin it on Labour

Just like last time eh. The rest of your post is pathetic.

Last time Corbyn closed the gap thanks to a dreadful campaign by May, she was truly awful. Johnson won't make that mistake, i don't see Labour making much of a dent in the tory lead.

Not a chance... Scotland will turn SNP - meaning Tories have 13 seats to make up - it will be a hung parliament again.

I can't fathom being back in year 11 and being allowed to vote. Teachers were pushing their own political agendas throughout school already, imagine what it would be like if they knew they can make an instant impact.

Yes it's all I spend my lesson time doing

But a lot of people will let it. Loads of people don't bother reading the manifesto. If it's not mentioned in the media or whatever it's not worth consideration.

Realistically the three pro-UK parties need to form local pacts to offer the best chance of denting the SNP vote. The constituency I used to live in saw the SNP member get in by literally 2 votes...

Sadly for the first time in my life I probably won’t even bother voting.

Understand the thought process but there could be some unfavourable things sneaking through under the Brexit radar and I couldn't allow myself to play even the tiniest part by failing to vote.

None of the parties deserve to be voted for.

In the blue corner, weighing in at 34 stone, promising Pork Pies to the Yanks and to build a bridge at Stranraer, 'Honest' Boris Johnson

In the red corner, weighing in at 8 stone, promising to campaign against his own deal, Jerry 'The Sex Pot Trot' Corbyn

Think grendel, sick boy and Ian might be right....another hung parliament

although the opinion polls are suggesting a decent tory lead I’m not sure that will convert into seats.

big gamble by Johnson and pretty sick of elections, but weighing everything up probably needed to happen (no longer had a working majority)

Can't imagine Johnson doesn't have skeletons in his closet. Wonder what will come out over the course of the campaign. Although it does seem as with Trump he can get away with anything.

Their other issue will be managing his appearances. There's a reason he doesn't get interviewed by anyone doing anything more than a puff piece and why he tries his best to avoid PMQs. There will no doubt be calls for a live debate, will be interesting to see how the Conservatives play that.

I don't think we will get a clear winner either. Polls don't really take into account the voting system. Translating that poll lead into additional seats might not be straightforward.

Depends where you are in Scotland. The East is far more conservative in their thinking than the West but still more to the left then most of England.

I think it may be more important to go after the Conservative vote in Scotland then Labour trying to take back their old heartlands.

It would need the SNP to move more to the right then it is at the moment.

I’d love to vote labour but just look at their front bench that’s what puts people off them.
Mud sticks with Corbyn and McDonnell.
And they will bankrupt the country again just like the last labour government,They just don’t know how to spend taxpayers money wisely.

It isn’t so much east and west as it is the central belt and everywhere else. The SNP heartlands used to be up north, then the Tories took the lot while the SNP bagged Labour’s urban constituencies. Where I was the Lib Deme were unopposed for decades then lost it in the big flip off of 2015. Worth remembering of course that the only Communist MP was elected in Fife.

Being progressive and pro-UK is too small a niche to see Labour back into office up there.

this doesn't exactly scare the living daylights out of anyone though.

Back on planet earth Johnson has performed numerous U turns and despite all of his bravado and bluster. He’s also presented a deal worse than May’s and that contains something more definitive than the backstop. Being a posh boy though this gets ignored.
