He's got a good record, his own fans aren't happy about losing him and the general feeling here of him coming in is positive. I think I've had a stroke.

I will when he signs.

Don’t understand the apprehension, we need a striker, we also need experience he is both, scored 18 last season. Think some on here need to realise the market we can shop in, we can’t afford to buy from the championship so to get one of the better division one strikers has to be good surely and 28 is no age. As for the rumoured £500k price tag its half of the Chaplin fee to me it’s good business.
I think the apprehension is because he bucks the usual trend of signing young go-getters...and that despite scoring 18 goals none of us seem to have heard of him!
Looks good in that montage though!

That's the selling club figure, I imagine that would be the total with all add-ons included. I reckon it's £500k with additional based on goals and league position.

No but we know it’s somewhere between 500-750k. This is a signing that is not normal for us. This guy is as solid as it gets for league 1.

Will likely be benched for Sat and maybe make a 10 minute cameo

Robins has got his man. I would suggest the fee was more 550-600k with a clause or two that would give Posh a bonus should we sell him or he hits targets (such as promtion)
Chaplin was untried and tested while potentially being another Armstrong, but that did not materialise and we sold him at profit.
Godden is a proven scorer and will bag goals in our team, absolutely no doubt. So we finally have the out and out striker we needed.

Next target is Bright which I beleive is still on the cards.
We have pocketed some 2.5/3m and while a chunk of that has gone to mitigate the move to St.Andrews this season, credit to SISU for continuing to allow Robins the other chunk. Robins had already saved over some funds remember, and has bided his time over his spending. He has the cash for Bright either to buy or help pay his wages so watch this space.

Portsmouth wanted Godden which tells you a lot. This puts us well on track for our promotion challenge.
Go support Robins and his team they deserve it. The CHAMPIONSHIP is a very real target this season.

I never really understand why fans are bothered about the fees we make or we pay. It’s not like we get to see the money. Only real question we should ask is does he improve the squad.
Hope you're on the wind up m8!?

I care what we pay so we don't fuck up our future existence, perhaps?

It just looks miserable when they announce here is your new signing for an undisclosed fee it looks so much better here’s our new half a million pound signing

A different type of signed than we've seen in recent years but as a couple of managers have said in the past finding a 20 goal a season striker is the hardest part. Teams that have them don't want to let go of them. Getting a player proven at this level for a price we can afford is great work by Robins and his team.

Like that he dropped down to Ebbsfleet to kick start his career and hasn’t looked back. And I dare say he’s ambitious enough to want to prove himself at Championship level too. Hopefully with us!
