He’s come out with so much now that he would look an even bigger fool to present a May type deal.

Why will he? He produces some kippers out of one pocket and some ice from another and makes a bizarre story about added cost to an island not even in the EU.

If may or hunt did it they’d be destroyed. Johnson does it and everyone thinks it’s funny and no one cares it was a stunt to gain attention.

You have no idea about the marketing and image creation that is Boris Johnson - the silly zip wire stunt where he got stuck in mid air and waved the Union Jack? Didn’t get stuck. It was rigged. He’s often done speeches where he laughs and says he forgot the punchline over and over again. He can screw any woman he wants and people will laugh.

This is brand Boris and he can easily get a deal already defeated pretend it’s his and no one will care - it’s all a big laugh

Hardly a surprise.

Let’s be honest the one thing Johnson is voted in for is to get Brexit done.

If that’s delivered the Brexit party vanishes and crucially labour having publicly declared (sort of as the great leader agrees with Johnson really) that they will campaign for remain will have nowhere to go. Corbyn is drastically on the wane - peak Corbyn is long long gone.

So it’s a means to an end. Deliver the result get an election done which will move Corbyn out and labour back to a minority opposition and that’s it job done.

Johnson is tommy cooper. It’s all a bad magic act - everything is false but it’s all done to get a result - which if he gets a Brexit if sorts done he will achieve

If that were the case, then that question about being a good prime minister would be lower than this one about handling Brexit from the same poll, it’s not:

9C77B727-2C7A-48BF-B8FC-9AD92B96A3DF.png

43% of Leavers say Boris good at Brexit, 48% say good PM.

I know of several people that voted Brexit because Boris backed it and they love Boris.

The vast majority are really not your Dan Hannan faux intellectuals, they’re the great unwashed I’m afraid.

Though one of my great pleasures in all this is each side of the unholy alliance (on both sides of the Brexit debate) pretending the other is just like them really.

I wish I could argue with that!

Yeah this is spot on.

It’s alright. A British tanker has just been overtaken in international waters and is currently on its way to Iran. Brand Boris will be able to amuse their release just like he has with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. What could possibly go wrong.

Not really because what does the question a good PM mean? Jeremy Corbyn has the lowest rating in polling history so a dead donkey would attract a good rating if the question is interpreted as “versus what else is out there”

Can’t argue with that but it’s a very sad reflection of where the country has now found itself.

As PM though he won’t be able to get away with it so much.

I should also add a prediction...he’ll offer Farage a job to get ‘his’ deal through and Farage won’t be able to resist and will sell out.

Yes, but as we have witnessed yet again, Boris is not diligent, he doesn’t do due diligence. See the kipper fiasco. The chances of a total fxxk up are enormous. The best case is a Brexit of sorts, but once again, no one will be happy with a Brexit of sorts.

I think the kippers weren’t forethought, he was given the information, didn’t check it, but as you say the faithful just say it’s just Boris. I think he will get support from the devil Trump to say he will get a great deal in record time. The Brexiters will say I told you so and break on in cheers.

When everything has died down the terms of any deal will be revealed.

The as with the water cannons and the garden bridge, someone will have to pick up the tab

Best time for them to do it. Distraction of new PM and potential no deal and therefore stress with EU friends.

Seems that although the ship is British registered its Swedish owned and internationally crewed. Maybe Boris won’t need to get involved. Unless we want the flag back. Maybe he could zip wire in, grab the flag and zip wire back out waving it.

The kipper incident of course was deliberate as it got him headlines

Problem is a lot of the defence people were throwing Harvey Weinsteins way for years was by saying it’s just Harvey as an excuse to turn a blind eye to his behaviour. I would think any logical person should have already passed the point of saying it’s just Boris as if it’s a cleansing process to move on from with a blank page. Throw in a few “will of the people” remarks and logic seems to leave many people’s thought process. Which is exactly why brexit has become a cult.

So you’re seriously suggesting that Boris deliberately told a load of porkies so someone from the EU could correct it? Then again if it’s not broke don’t fix it I guess, it’s got him this far. People are stupid.

Reports coming in (but unverified) that Iran has taken a second tanker now. Just when you need your best man on the job we’re getting Boris.

Apparently the second tanker is Liberian. Or as Boris would call them piccaninnies.

Trump sounds very concerned about the unfolding events. If the unfolding events are being concerned about Kanye Wests mate who’s been locked up in Sweden for fighting. Priorities and all that. Still Kanye Wests mate is black and because of the stupid things he tweets Trump is now at pains to not look a racist by pretending he’s concerned that Sweden might have made a political prisoner of Kanye’s mate and he’s going to use his diplomacy skills to free him.

I’m not even making this shit up and that isn’t even the funny thing. The funny thing is that I’m talking about the president of America.

As well as praising the send her back crowd, Trump has also praised Johnson.
Great.

All presidents say positive things about future PMs as they have to work together.

Fortunately I had the good sense to change a shit load earlier in the year for my summer holidays in just over a week. Seen this coming.
But in reality - most people's budget, it makes a difference of what? £5-10 on their spending pot for a 2wk holiday?

What is it that these women said to gain this kind of response from Trump. I haven't looked for it but haven't seen or heard it reported either. I saw that he claimed at least on of them has said some horrible & unacceptable things about Amercia...but nobody has specified what they were from what I know.

Shocking that you’re even bothering to try and justify it.
