There already is a supporter's club isn't there, on Freehold St, though not sure how much it is an actual supporter's club or just a club that bears that name.

It will have less numbers than the others. I'm convinced we have more supporters from outside Coventry than we do in the city.

Used to be full regularly on match days. Has never been the same since City moved, and the place is often empty these days. Got a new owner around 10 years ago, and the place has never been the same since. Still called the City Supporters club as far as I know, but it's basically just a name these days.

Something to move the trust to one side

After a few weeks hard graft in the background by a team of dedicated fans , there will be the first set up meeting of the CCFC supporters club Coventry Branch .

It will be run along the same type of format as the Leam&Warks one. Thanks Juggy for letting me bend your ear

Mission Statement

1,Support the manager and players of Coventry City FC – this includes creating a closer bond between Coventry based supporters and the manager and players.

2. Arrange social events, including travel, for Coventry based supporters

3, Raise funds for local charities and to support initiatives in association with the manager/players at Coventry City FC.

4,Support the fans in achieving the best match day experience possible.

5, No politics !

After tonights meeting we will arrange a sign up night in our Cov City Centre Venue, where board members / volunteers can be discussed and it will also be attended by Mark Robins .

I was chatting to some blokes at leamington who were talking about being in the process of making a supporters group. So it must have been them.

It's a good idea.

There will be people from Coventry going to Leamington / Bedworth anyway I bet for those clubs.

Good luck. I see the Facetwat group have already broken the no politics rule.

What day are you thinking of having meetings, and how often?

Happy also to create a section for the Leamington / Bedworth / Coventry groups to post about meetings and stuff if they think it will help :)
Yeah that would be a good idea. Especially for people like myself who would be interested in going to the Coventry groups meetings but don’t have Facebook

I will ask the Bedworth group, will PM adge or rob to ask about the leamington, who is running the cov one?

What about for us living outside of Cov/UK?
I think there's quite a lot of regional Supporters groups, you'll have to check around for your area if within UK. For instance the Dunchurch Supporters group who donated £3,600 to the ticket fund.

Outside of the UK I'm not sure but I would have thought they exist

So this is turning into another closed shop for people who can only attend in person?? You couldn’t make it up.

No I'm sure there's going to be discussion threads on forums like this for ideas and contributions. It just needs to be collated in order for someone to take to the meetings

Great!!!
However, how does this group intend to do that?
Said it in the "trust" thread, they are the go to group for the media, how does that change?
All for the tide to change refarding this as the trust have shown their colours... sadly they aren't sky blue... more black and yellow...

But could people outside of UK join?
I don't know for a fact, but I would assume so. I can't see why not, itd just be a case of forwarding ideas etc to through the right avenues as opposed to attending in person. As long as the ideas have a voice I'm sure they'd be gratefully received.

Could always attend via video link? ;)

Well I’m all for a group that’s inclusive of fans irrespective of location and which facilitates input via this forum or by other means. If that means having to join via video link then I’m up for it.

Surely the media would catch on and follow the masses. They're not going to waste time contacting a few old blokes chatting down a pub when a new, densely supported, CCFC fan reflective group comes into play. As long as everyone keeps it sensible and calm ie no Facebook forum numpties

There was a supporters club in Rugby back when I was a young teen. I remember Dave Sexton, Harry Roberts & Rudi Kaiser coming to a couple of events, & 3 coaches going to a Cup game at West Brom from the Saracens Head. Hardly been back there since I left, so no idea if there are many Cov fans still in the town or not. Leicester's recent success & our fall down the leagues might have had a negative effect on the new generation I guess.

I’ll be starting the Northam and Westward Ho! Supporters club. I’ll be sat in the dark corner of my local pub on my own, in my Coventry top and my 50/50 scarf (Coventry/Exeter). Easy to spot. Just in case anyone else happens to be in there dressed the same, I’m the one wearing slippers and sipping a glass of sherry. PUSB. Look forward to meeting you all.
