The fact that we've heard NOTHING about a winger coming in makes me believe we'll replace Thomas with another loan - which means waiting and seeing who's available.
Oops !!

Nobody can question his attitude, work rate and commitment.
I believe a major factor with his lack of goal scoring last year was confidence. The lad proved he can finish but the more the fans, manager and media started talking about it, the worse his decision making in the final 3rd became.
I don’t think he is championship ready yet, but I think Barnsley are a decent team in which to continue his development.

For a start he is 19 and this was his first season of full time professional football

In the first half of the season he was by some distance the most effective forward in the squad

He has a high work rate for a player of his type which is an essential requirement the higher up the leagues you go.

His pace is a major attribute - it allows him to take defenders with him and free up space for other forwards

In short he’s a fine attribute with significant potential which is why someone paid over a million pounds for him
Sounds like our Max :)

He might have missed a few chances for sure, but he found those positions through determination and intelligence.

Even if he didn't finish himself, he'd pull the defence around and get them worrying; in itself that makes chances for others. I think there's every chance he'll do pretty well for Barnsley.

Not sure I get the joy in seeing him 'fail' to be honest. Came to the club, worked his arse off, missed more than a few chances granted and was frustrating, but can't fault his desire which is usually what people moan about with loanees. I think and hope he'll be a decent coup for Barnsley.

I'm intrigued to see how he performs. I personally think his move to the Championship is too soon but we'll see. Loved watching him at times and his work rate was second to none which was refreshing to see from such a young player. But equally, he frustrated the hell out of me.

His final product is up there with one of the poorest I've seen at Coventry in recent times but it was his first season playing consistently at a decent level so I can't be too harsh on him. He's got a lot to work on but if he improves in this department he'll be a great player. Regardless, certainly hope the move works out for him though.

Ryan Kent and Jacob Murphy did the same and got absolutely fucking mullered by some dicks on here saying they’d amount to nowt. Kent was a staple of the Rangers side last year and Murphy went for £10M a year after he left us....

On decent pitches and with a bit of training on composure in front of goal Thomas will be a real asset for Barnsley

Thomas battled well for us his passing and finishing were pretty woeful but lets hope he puts in a good word for Chaplin and Baka
