Give it up.
Are you seriously suggesting give up on Jodi Jones or am I missing something? Jones is an outstanding talent who tore up League 2 before his injury last season. Getting a fit Jones back would be a huge bonus. Not only is he a major creator and creative spark for us, he's a decent finisher. If the suggestion is that we should give up on a player battling a second significant injury - that's absolutely shameful. Most right minded fans are hoping for and fully support the return of Jones. I think someone else has also written in this thread 'he's shite.' Clueless and I don't know how we attract these kind of morons in our support. Maybe I'm missing something - I hope so.

The issue is we are talking about a player who has since suffered two ACL injuries, will he come back the same player?

If it wasn't before, the injury will always be in the back of Jodi's mind when he goes for the ball.

JJ was very good leading up to his injury, I am unsure he will return the same player and pinning hopes on him at this stage is very premature.

Agreed mental side of it is the biggest issue you could see last time few stories about him pulling out in training etc gonna be even more of a mental set back to do it again.

Thanks Rob for the explanation vs. the absolute juvenile response of the administrator of this board.

I think it's all interesting as the original poster on Jones return actually stated something along the lines....'we can't rely on Jones return, it will not be before Christmas and if he does return he can play on the left or right.' This led the usual suspects like Grendel/Nick to respond with nemes showing head in hands etc./despair.

And then some absolute moron responded 'he's shite.' Which could not be more wrong or clueless in every sense. I wonder if that poster has ever watched the team.

I'm sure we are all hoping that Jones comes back to his best (excluding the usual morons) as he would be an amazing asset to the team - the points you have made on him being the same player are of course valid and we will see.

I just don't see the need for some to write off Jodi at this stage of his recovery.......let's get behind the lad and see what the physios and medical staff can do.

If we’re after a left sided attacking midfielder what does that mean for Jordi?

Do you want any more clues or are you going to carry on?

There is potential that JJ will come back into the fold next season and have a positive impact on the team - I think we'd all love nothing more than this.

When I am thinking ahead to next season and the squad I would definitely account for JJ, but not apply unnecessary pressure on the kid as to what we expect from him.

Don't get it, you are happy with Baka but not happy with Chaplin?

Baka- 7 goals 4 assists in 31 appearances
Chaplin- 8 goals 3 assists in 31 appearances

Chaplin is certainly not useless. Nor is baka, but based on this season neither is good enough to be the main CF.

Don’t like Chaplin as an AM or lone striker. Bakas scoring record is slightly better when you look at minutes on pitch but it’s more about his ability to lead the line.

If we played two up I’d keep him as the second striker, but we don’t.

WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT JODI JONES
Because he's a fantastic player and a fully fit Jodi Jones would be a real asset for our team in 2019/20. In effect he would be a new player for us given his absence over the last 18 months. And this is a thread on the new squad/transfers and possible formations.

I take full responsibility here.

No one calls him Jordi.

...

Especially as his name is Jordy

Bakayoko is garbage

You do realise there's a pretty good chance that Jodi won't ever be the same player that he was? Granted he had talent but we only saw a brief glimpse of that potential and talent within a short period of time. Not to mention that was also at a lower level of football so what guarantees are there that a fully fit Jodi Jones would've been an asset next season, or (taking his injuries out of the equation) even this past season. Don't forget he struggled to make an impact at League One level the season before last. So, after two years out of the game I find it presumptuous to suggest he'd be a real asset during the 2019/20 season when most experts would have no idea how he'd perform.

Regardless, after back to back ACL tears I can now see him being more of a dead weight than an asset as I personally doubt he'll recover from this. Even after one ACL tear there is a risk of improper healing if the graft isn't accepted by the body, continued pain and loss of motion in the knee. Plus you can't rule out the damaging psychological effects of suffering such an injury twice in two years.

Got it Grends.

As one of the few sane people left not to have blocked you - I do see your posts. Most often in horror admittedly. Sometimes in absolute amusement particularly after Max's performance at Notts County.

But pat yourself on the back this time - it's Jordy and not Jodi. Well done.

It's all opinions CRJ and I see your points. I just find it unfortunate at best that some are writing off JJ at this point - it's premature. And as for a poster stating 'he's shit'.....you will probably agree that is absolutely unjustified and unfair on a player who has real talent and is doing everything he can to return to the fold.

Cov fan Jamie Paterson is out of contract at Bristol City - only 27.

According to Sky Sports.

Former City loanee Grant Ward is also out of contract at Ipswich.

Keiren Westwood and Martin Cranie also out of contract at the two Sheffield clubs - should we get the Championship band back together?

Another Championship club will pick him up, he'll be on a wage way beyond what we can afford

I would imagine so FP, he's a capable player at Championship level.
