A lot of people on twitter voicing their opinion to David. Les Reid included.

A number of eminent judges have presided over this all have kicked the sisu case into touch, I’m sure their legal eagles will have mentioned all the possibles and probables concerning ccc, acl, Higgs Trust, Wasps and whoever else there might be, perhaps, just perhaps it’s down to sisu.
You realise that things can be legal and people can still be at fault right?

Do wasps actually own the ricoh or did they just buy a lease on it for 100 years?

They'd most likely look to sell the club and their stake in the stadium together, especially if they had tried and failed to sell the club with them retaining ownership of the stadium. Wasps couldn't care less about us, we are a direct competitor to them, a successful CCFC would be detrimental to their ambitions. After all of the misleading around CCFC and CRFC, I can't believe that some fans still think that it would be a good idea to work with Wasps, especially as they are a club that moved their team away on a permanent basis. We would be better off waiting until the inevitable happens and they are no longer able to sustain themselves in Coventry.
We'll have to agree to disagree. Doubt Seppala's freehold ownership ambitions have been extinguished, who knows what could be in store for the club and stadium were this realised. Why would Wasps see us as competitors when we don't even play the same sport? If they are in financial difficulties then without doubt having us as tenants or future co-owners would be beneficial to them, would it not?

You really don't see why they would see us as competitors?

Are people purposely trying to be naive or does it just help with believing that the council or wasps have never done anything wrong.

Its a bit strange.

I dislike both the Guardian and Cov Council, but still thought it's a good article.

I'm amazed at the number of people prepared prepared to muddy the waters on who is responsible for the current mess - I'd go for 85% Sisu, 5% each for Wasps, CCC and probably Bryan Richardson et al. too - or something like that. Sisu are so obviously the stand-out baddies of the piece as they're the ones who initiated all the legal cases - none of them for the benefit of the club but only to enrich Sisu.

I'm trying to work out what's going to happen now. I'd love to think Sisu will just wander off into the distance after selling to some new and benevolent owners, but I'm reminded of the last half hour of a Harry Potter film where the beast appears to die, only to re-emerge in some new and terrible form. I wonder about the damage a hedge fund under the control of a possibly menopausal female CEO could still do re winding up the club completely - which wouldn't really be a good business decision. I also wonder about the tenability of Sepalla's position as CEO which must surely be under scrutiny after the apparent failure of the legal route - which would depend on how much of the company she actually owns herself.

PUSB.

What are they competing for, fans? It ain't the stadium as they've already won that.

Even if it is only 5% the council's fault, they still played their part.

There are still people so far against SISU to even acknowledge any wrongdoings of CCC and Wasps.

Think it far more likely they'd retain stadium ownership and sell the club thus at the mercy of any rent Sisu wishes to charge. You really wouldn't ever get rid of them then....

Who in their right mind would purchase CCFC without the stadium knowing full well that they would somehow somewhere along the lines open themselves up to SISU court action for not dotting an i or crossing a t or something if SISU owned the said stadium and they would never get enough revenues to truly compete.

I think the Council have been doing us over since the 90s and only with their backing the club will begin to rebuild. I reckon if they didn't do SISU over on the YBS debt purchase, the Ricoh and the club would already be unified and Wasps would still be down south...

Dunno, someone with an unwavering passion for the club but incredibly naive I suppose. Wasn't exactly great PR by Fisher when saying about proposed new stadium that this would be the arrangement but I digress..

The first paragraph of your response confirms why nobody wants to deal with them and why progress will not be made with them at the helm.

My first paragraph actually said why SISU wouldn't try to sell one without the other with SISUs reputation, but read it as you like.

Terribly onesided article. We all know what sisu have done, and we all know they are c***s, but there are others that must share the blame with them for where we are now.

If you can’t see that there is something wrong with the council first courting Wasps and then selling them the Ricoh for a third of it’s value while not offering that same deal to the football club the stadium was bought for, no matter how ‘legal’ it might be, then you’re a fucking moron.

A perfect summing up of any ‘blame’ argument... nick can we just post this in every thread where people are arguing about what part the council did or didn’t play in screwing us over & then close the thread LOL

Agree but throughout this there has been reactions to others actions.

Comical to think SISU would have paid anywhere near what Wasps did when they were only willing to offer a conditional £2m for Higgs share (appreciate lease got extended since but buying 50% of ACL would’ve put us in a great position to renegotiate, extend etc)

CCC have got a lot to answer for (wasps were opportunists in our shitshow) but there is no doubt SISU have always been the main protagonists.

What do you mean anywhere near what wasps did? 2m for 50% is not really much different to what wasps paid is it?

I notice you have bought into pwkh and his "conditions". Ha

The conditional offer was £2.8m

Think it’s also in Gilbert’s book (I know it’s had its knockers but parts are still an interesting read, as much for the timing of the various events)

From memory SISU also tried to buy the bank debt for a knock down (distressed) price around that time so I don’t think they would’ve delivered a similar deal as Wasps. Who knows though.

The thing is wasps picked the ground up for a great price at least partly due to SISUs bullshit tactics (I honestly think CCC were just sick of the whole situation and part panicking with being left with a white elephant). If SISU had ever come to the table with a sensible proposal then it would be very difficult to side against them. Unfortunately they chose not to and instead all we’ve had is refusal to pay (exorbitant I agree) rent which led to administration, being dragged down to Northampton and a load of ‘hindsight’ court actions, all of which have been unsuccessful to date.

I agree with the earlier poster who said everyone should take a share in the blame, I just see SISUs as being the major share.

Ahh,but there's still an opportunity for the club to buy a half share. Are our owners prepared to do that?

Suppose it all boils down to envisaged outcomes as to when this all finally concludes. Some on here seem to thing Sisu gaining control of the Ricoh means club and stadia combined leads to a quick sale to more benevolent owners. I'd disagree. Think it far more likely they'd retain stadium ownership and sell the club thus at the mercy of any rent Sisu wishes to charge. You really wouldn't ever get rid of them then....
Why would anyone want a half share of something that has £35 million of someone else’s debt attached to it?
