Before this thread goes any further, I am as excited as anyone by the prospect of the playoffs, but can we please try and not have a catastrophic meltdown if we are to lose a few games before the end of the season. We have five of the toughest games still to play and I don't really fancy reading about the 'spineless cowards' or how 'Robins has to go' when we've done incredibly well to be in the position we are in. Let's roll with it, enjoy it, and with a little luck we may get to enjoy ourselves Mid-May, but let's not become too expectant.

Peterborough's confidence has to be low on the back of 2 away defeats to the bottom 2 teams in the division and only taken 7 points from their last 8 games. Ought to be an ideal time to play them.

Peterborough 3 - Cov 1

I’d be tempted to keep the same midfield shape as last night but bring in Kelly for Meyler. Worked well having 2 more free-roaming centre mids either side of Meyler last night.

I agree and Kelly will do a lot better job than Meyler too, who unfortunately (and not surprisingly) looked completely off the pace last night. While he had a few decent touches his lack of mobility and inability to cover the space left is more vulnerable than needed. Can’t fault his leadership skills, but they don’t outweigh Kellys ability to influence the game from a footballing perspective.

We also need Thomas to re-find his form of a few months ago, he isn’t looking as dangerous recently.

I’d stick with Bayliss over Bright as while the latter can undoubtedly change games and has bags of ability, we’ll need more discipline this game. Plus, he’d be a great impact sub when they are tiring.

Brown certainly looked like he had a point to prove last night and gave a good performance, so I’d be tempted to play him, but I still think he’s a liability defensively.

I'd keep the same team as last night and would love the same result again, it's one of the biggest games this season to date.

Three points to is a must to keep us within an outside chance of the play-offs.

bring willis back in if fit

i would go with bright as time is running out and we need wins but understand if MR goes with shipley again even if i dont agree with it

wouldnt mind seeing both kelly and meyler play same time to give us some grit in midfield. bayliss or bright in front of them

Outside chance? We’d be above Peterborough, worst case scenario level on points with bpool, and likely make ground on Donny who have a tough game (worst case 3 points back).

Win we can do it, tighten up just that little bit more at the back and we will get a clean sheet.
Over to you forwards.

We have almost a fully fit squad to choose from, competition for places should only benefit us for the run in.

Brown needs to start on Saturday, I like Mason but he has been poor in the last two games. Will be interesting to see if Bright comes straight back in.

Willis (if fit) and Kelly definitely back in for me, for Williams and Shipley. Maybe Bright for Bayliss as well. Would also start Brown over Mason - he looked a lot more solid last night and gave us a bit of aggression to the back line. Think Mason needs a break - teams have been targeting our left side more and more recently.

Great shout and pretty much what I said in the office today. Peterborough will be up for this so need to head into the game like a cup final.

Blackpool are the team you have to watch, they’re as close as we are and their fan base is rejuvenated, they will be hard to stop.

Peterborough were shocking when they came to the Ricoh. Quite literally stole a point. We should have score 4 in the second half.

Doncaster in 6th with a game in hand... Fan base rejuvenated, yet Blackpool only got 7k in their biggest game of the season on Tuesday, and only their second game “back”.

Toney, Maddison - take out/negate these two and you've pretty much done a job on their team.

Yep - a big drop off - although it reminds me of our Gillingham game, followed by home to Yeovil(?) where there was a huge (if not unexpected) drop.

Aren’t Blackpool in Receivership? They’re due a points deduction

The EFL are still debating whether to dish out that points deduction and no decision has been made, yet.

Not sure I understand, thought it was automatic points deduction? Why is it even being debated? We had to go through 2 points deductions, one for the admin and the second for the liquidation. Totally confused.

It should've been, at present the EFL are working the receivers to ensure that A) the club can fulfil its fixtures and then B) decide on the 12 point deduction.

The EFL in a statement did say the below on the matter;

"We hope to find a solution that will deliver the stability that will benefit the club going forward," EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey said.

"The board [of the EFL] will receive an update at its next meeting on 6 March and we will look to bring the matter to a conclusion, as quickly as possible."
