It looked like 4-1-4-1 to me. I've no problem with one up front if they are well supported, but yesterday Hiwula was shockingly isolated and stood no chance. Bright and Thomas seemed to have been told to play more like wide midfielders than attackers, which is a complete waste of their obvious skills.
Spot on.

Our best player or most skill full is Bright. He needs to be in the god damn penalty area at all times. As a defender I know where I wouldn’t want Bright.

Baffling how he wasn’t playing up front as a pair with the isolated Hiwula.

This post surprises me, because I know you are a massive supporter of the team. So why abuse someone who is merely asking people not to abuse our young players, but to get behind them, and give them the confidence to perform to their highest potential? And I agree with Rob, calling players ‘Shitley’ Or ‘McWankty’ (remember how that ended?) - isn’t clever, and is really disrespectful to a young lad who tries really hard for his team.
Im not talking about dumb ibsult names

I mean saying give shipley a break fir poor performances. Dont see him aaking anyone tongive hiwulla or bright a nreak etc

No way was it 4-3-3, i thought it was more 4-5-1, anybody else getting the impression the players are not to comfortable with this system they are playing, all this passing around to no avail,we huff and we puff, but nothing happens.

Shut up u fucking idiot
All you do is list sentimental reasons whybhe should not be criticised for his on pitch performances
Hes worst player on pitch and thankgullu people in ricoh are now agreeing with me jidging by the comments around me
Shipley had a few misplaced passes and one horrible shot, but I think you are turning a blind eye to a lot of other good work throughout the game. He’s only got the equivalent of about one season of experience, nearly all of it played out of position IMO. Yesterday, especially when given more responsibility in the middle of the park after Meyler went off, I saw enough to suggest he can do a good job at this level.

You saw it differently, but that’s no reason to throw insults around.

Two out of Meyler, Kelly and Shipley should be holding the centre mid, and the attacking players we have should be given far more licence to …. er, attack.

CCFC I like a lot of your posts but can’t like this one. Needless.

And ending any argument with ‘people around me in the Ricoh agree’ is pretty weak given the absolutely idiotic and brain dead opinions that I frequently hear around me!
I said shipley was poor syart of season and got pelters for itm now everyone sees it

Just because he scored at wembley doesnt mean youbturn a blind eyento gis poor performsnces

Anyone saying shitley is a dumbass. I have no issuebwith kid and if he starts next game i jope he motm. But i doubt it

He was 4 out of 10 for me. But i have seen him worse

My issue is with someone bringing up that gosl at wembley or him being ine of our own

Only factor to be considering with shipley is his young age.

Loke i said i aint given up on the lad but i will not make excuses for him either

Westbrooke - Meyler - Shipley
Thomas - Hiwula - Enobakhare

That's how I saw it. With bright roaming a bit obviously.

The front three weren't all playing narrow.
Looked like a midfield 3 rather than the 2 we've been playing lately
It was fluid at times though. Shipley and Enobakhare seemed to be on the left early on and then Shipley switched to the right for a bit.

If we had 3 upfront, then how come you could of had a ocean liner between them and our forwards would never of saw it,they were that far apart.

I take it my favourite poster has replied. I don't see it as I put him on ignore a while back for being a racist wum. Nice to know he still keeps to form if hes having a pop but can't say I miss his contributions.

He’s on the back foot so his Stanley Unwin style is going into hyper drive

Ha curiosity got the better of me so temporarily removed the ignore to see what was said. Looks like I've missed other abuse from him which is a shame, he'll get better one day. Back on ignore, but not before I share that I read the Cardiff Leicester game was referred to as "El Crashico" because I know he'll appreciate it. Anyhow, please abuse away as I won't see it again for some time :)

Was 433 at the start yesterday

Bright on left Thomas on the right hiwula up front.

Meyler was sitting in midfield with Shipley and westbrooke in front of him and their movement was quite good often finding space but often not picked out

It was fluid. As for how people classify it I guess its up to individual interpretation. I saw two banks of three in possession in front of a back 4.

Whatever formation it was, or was supposed to be, the biggest issue for me is the lack of players in the attacking box. Having only 1 in the box makes it so easy to defend against for the central defenders and I think this is contributing to our not causing opposition too may problems when we attack. Granted shite finishing doesn't help when we do get the chances, but I want to see us pose more problems for opposition teams. Was interesting watching MOTD last night Shearer was criticising Fulham for similar tactics, said they could have played all night without scoring - at times that's exactly what it's like watching us.

Had to rely on the Ifollow for the game, so bloody hard to see the overall shape of the set up. Couldn’t see the 1st half set up much on the camera angle offered. Full backs were very advanced but 2nd half looked 4231.

Thought Meyler looked a very useful addition and played some good balls about and used his experience in winning free kicks. Faded quickly tho as expected.

Frustrating performance, glad I was working at full time as the abuse select players get and others omitted from really annoys me. Some criticism on here is fine but to abuse them is wrong.

I must admit I thought it started as 4 3 3 but in a fluid system that can change to 4 5 1
I think Thomas has shown less in the last two games because he is coming in field to leave space for Sterling advancing. I prefer to see Thomas playing wide.

Well if its 2 of those thats the easiest decision ever made.

Wow, no words for the amount of people saying ' we have no shape' or 'I can't figure out the formation'

Quite obviously it's 4 2 3 1, Robins has only used it for most his career.... back 4, meyler and westbrooke holding, shipley on the left, Bright as the 10 and Thomas on the right with Hiwula up top. The attacking 3 behind the striker have freedom to swap positions for those who can't work out why bright sometimes ends up on the left...

That's how it appeared to me watching on iFollow.

Robins is saying it's also Bakayoko, Thomas and Bright to blame a bit for not getting back.

Am I missing something again? He said the same against Walsall when they scored long a massive kick and a cockup with a defender / Burge.

What the hell would any of those 3 done there? I can understand if they played through us but it was another long ball.
