Stoke City Fan In Peace (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone. I’m a Stoke City Fan, however I’ve been a long admirer of your club and I have been managing you in every addition of FM since 2011 (if that’s not convinced you nothing will ;p). Now, I come from a club in termoil (Stoke), and I assume that you are likewise, considering the board’s financial situation (correct me if I’m wrong).

So, I have a few questions, one of which is to settle a debate with a friend, and the other is to get a good idea of the fan’s idea of how the club is doing right now.

1) What’re your opinions on Stoke? (Friend says you’d hate us, I said you wouldn’t, because Stoke have no issue with yous I believe)
2) What’s the whole situation with the Ricoh? Why is it like, so far away? Is it hard having to travel so far to get to the ground?
3) What’s your manager like? Does he play good football, and are you happy with him?

Have a nice day lads.

*EDIT

Ok, so we may not look like a turmoil club from the outside, and I’m dramatising it is hard to say, but we have some massive issues at this club, mainly poor ethic from the players who seem to think they’re owed the world. We also have two morons at the club who keep messing everything up - Mark Cartwright who, last season, spent a total of I believe £48 million on 3 players (Saido Berahino, Kevin Wimmee & Giannelli Imbula) who, two of which is on loan now and one is a striker who has only netted something rediculous like 3 goals in 40 games (swap for Hiwula and Chaplin? ;pp). The other being Tony Scholes who is a general director, who has generally directed our way into 4 managers in 13 months, 3 consecutive early FA Cup knockouts and a lax attitude to our relegation season. The board discussed the Relegation threat mid way between the 2017/18 season and said ‘they don’t know what all the fuss is about’. We also have the 13th largest losses in the whole of European football despite being what was a mediocre Premier League team and now a mediocre Championship team.

Trust me, you’ll be in the Premier League before we will.

Why is the Ricoh so far away?
Very interesting question. It's funny really because I find the further away I travel from it, it gets further and further away. Yet when I'm there it's not far away at all!

Crazy shit.

Couldn't give a fuck about Stoke, hardly in turmoil.

1. No issue with Stoke, good club
2. Would need time and beer to discuss. The Ricoh is in Coventry you know; just!
3. The jury is still out. Depends when you ask. He is a stubborn fucker though.

In turmoil? Let's face it you're probably at your level. You were fairly fortunate to get to the PL when the tv money became massive. Before that you were lower league also rans.

How are you in turmoil exactly? Are you also facing getting kicked out of the football league next year? Sorry, I just feel there needs to be some perspective. It's like when the Man Utd lose a game and the papers describe it as a crisis! Give me a break! That aside its nice to know you admire the club (however it came about!).

And it's only far if you live in Stoke. And tbh I don't pay any attention to Stoke as a Coventry fan. Never heard of any rivalry between the two clubs.

As for Robins, I personally like him and think he is building something good here but its taking patience from the fans. I think our current frustrations will be rewarded over the next couple of seasons though if we stick to the plan! (As painful as it has been at times).

Similar club in stature to us obviously on a re-build with a new manager who hasn’t had the best of starts, like a number of relegated prem clubs will have a very high wage bill to service I suppose that’s the turmoil Niksaval is on about.

Don't mind Stoke. Considered them very well run for the past 15 years.

The Ricoh is no further out of town than the Brit is for Stoke.

no issues with stoke, forerver thankful to carlo nash for relegating leicester and not us in 2008 i beleive

ricoh is in best part of cov near my house, away from all chavs

robins is a good manager who calls it like the fans see it. however he is not dedicated to playing ball on ground as much as i would like and is prone to making some poor subs. but overall hes been great and long may it continue

I once had a mashed potato pie in Stoke On Trent.

I also kept getting mistaken for Duckens Nazon.

Agree. He has made some mistakes, but overall I think he is doing a very good job.

I am not too harsh on his transfer activity either. As someone said the other day (can't remember who), transfers are always a gamble and sometimes players are a perfect fit and sometimes they just don't come off and that can be due to many factors, such as unable to settle, not quite fit the system, fall out, injury etc.

We all thought Ogogo and Brown were very good signings on paper and so too Chaplin.

Ogogo and Brown clearly haven't worked out and I do think we might not see the best of Chaplin until next season, but Westbrooke has looked decent and there looks to be promise with Rose and Drysdale and McCallum. Jury still out on Mason and Bakayoko.

I think after coming up last season, a top half finish wouldn't be a bad return at all.

I don't hate Stoke, I just don't like the colour of their kit, as it reminds me of two teams I don't like very much (Sunderland & Sheff United)

Numpty!

Mowbray ended up being crap for us and Robins is much better.

Mowbray's signings were a disaster.

Robins has been buying for the future as much as for now.

ok i have got you on record as saying mowbray was a poor manager. thats all i required.
Yup. Put it in your Mowbray dossier. ;)

Absolutely loved the bloke at the start of that first season and thought he could do no wrong, but then it all went horribly downhill.

Shame. Nice bloke, but ended up being a poor manager for us.
