also they all saying send him to promotion chasing championship team in their forum, he could be a real coup

Fans do have a tendancy of 'bigging up' their clubs' own academy players. I'd take that with a pinch of salt.

yes but alot of them hating on him for not having end product at age 20. so i would think it evens out to a helluva good league 1 talent

From reports I think he'll probably be a good addition, but to claim he should be playing at top end Championship level is bordering on lunacy when he couldn't even get into Kilmarnock's Starting XI. Understandably a factor of his exclusion was because the team was doing well so Steve Clarke didn't want to rock the boat but realistically if he was better than what they already had he'd be an automatic shoe in.

Cautiously optimistic. Hopefully he’s quick and skilful and can play down the left.

Edit: I hope there won’t be too much resistance from the rest of the squad to a newbie coming in.

But he did get in championship winning wolves side last season...

Does that necessarily mean that's his level though? Ponticelli played 26 times for a League Two promotion winning side last season, yet we know full well that he couldn't play week in week out for another League Two promotion winning side. We gave him that opportunity because albeit whilst he possesses raw quality, MR also wanted to develop him. For all intents and purposes realistically his level was in the division below in the national league. It's clearly a similar case to Bright. Like I said I'm confident he'll be a good addition but if he was as good as some Wolves fans suggest why did he only get into Kilmarnock's Starting XI 6 times between the end of August and January? He could've been injured I don't know...

he ran rings around man citys defence last year in league cup apparently. i think he will be fine in league 1

Apparently missed a sitter too. Will probably sum up his time with us. No different to Luke Thomas though so at least both of our wingers will be consistent.

His goals have been

1 vs Barnet in the Capital Cup
3 goals in the FL Trophy as an Under 23 against Crewe Accrington and Sunderland
1 vs B Rovers in the EFL Cup
1 vs Barnsley in the Championship

and luke thomas is our best player so reasons to be enthusiastic?

Having both Bright and Thomas on either flank should be definitely be an exciting watch but we need to be getting more goals from midfield, we don't need to be further entertained by dazzling runs that come to nothing. Hopefully Bright can help out in the final third but comments regarding his final product are slightly alarming.

he will make things happen just like thomas does. being a threat will make teams think twice before coming on to us, buys us time to get it right ourselves and score

Described as 'predominantly a striker', but who apparently cannot score goals.
Reports are 'he misses a lot of chances' and is 'wasteful in front of goal'.
Don't we have enough of those?
And why is he preferred to Ponticelli (yes, I know he's injured at present)?

For a start ponticelli has his foot in a cast.

Id be interested to see how many slating him will be at the game on Saturday compared to those saying they will judge him after they have seen him.

Could it be that one has never played below Championship level and the other is currently on loan in League 2 and hasn't scored a goal in the last two months. He hasn't even made the bench since 22nd December. Is he injured?

Yes he is injured and back with us, don't know if he will go back to Macclesfield once fit?

Would imagine he will, not much point in him staying here when we have 4 strikers already on the books - he needs to be starting games and getting experience of playing week in, week out as opposed to the odd sub appearance here and there with us.

I like Ponti but he’s an out and out striker, not a wide player. He also carries too much weight IMHO for an aspiring pro footballer

The 2 full games he played for Kilmarnock were on the left wing. Suspect that will be the plan for him.

Played mostly on the right wing last year for Wolves.

As long as he runs around and "gives his all" like JOB he will be fine by me! We like players like that.:woot:

If he puts a 2 footer in within 10 minutes we should sell all of our players to sign him.

robins says he wnats to press lik bournemouth using hiwulla and chaplin

i like the idea but i see very little pressing in this team. cant be just the 2 strikers

hopefully we improvement saturday. with bright i have a feeling if we can get 1st half goal can go on to win by 3 or 4!
