Surely we have to get a win here. I know no game is easy in this league but Wimbledon are a poor side. Lowest scorers in the league with 20 goals in 26 games - saying that it’s not like we’re exactly prolific.

One change, Kelly in for Doyle (unless we sign some superstar on loan before Saturday)

I'd make two changes but doubt Robins will do if Kelly back fit in for Doyle and would get Chaplin in on the wing for Shipley
and play JCH & Hiwula up top - attacking line up as it should be at home to lowly Wimbledon.

Burge GK
Sterling RB
Mason LB
Willis CB
Hyam CB
Kelly CM
Bayliss CM
Thomas RM
Chapin LM
JCH ST
Hiwula ST

Subs: Addai, Grimmer, Davies, Doyle, Shipley, Brown, Allesani

Can see us losing this one. Be typical of our season to follow 3 wins on the trot with 3 losses.

Maybe a new face or two in would leave me more confident though.

Discuss the Coventry City vs. AFC Wimbledon match, tactics and predictions :)
Match - there will be one
Tactics - we'll probably set up defensively and won't change whether we or they score first
Prediction - we'll play someone out of position and make our substitutions too late

Given the above though, I'm hoping Wimbledon have an off day and we win.

They were quite a physical side, Piggot was whipping in decent set pieces for most of the game so will have to try and press him to close him down.

They targeted Mason a lot with diagonal balls which worked.

Agreed. On paper this team shouldn't be a problem for us. However, as we're playing them on grass, it'll be a nervy 1-0 win to us.

Really got to be looking to attack in this one. If fit, Kelly to replace Doyle.

If we're struggling to get chances by the hour, MR has to be looking to make positive changes and push up i.e. Allassani for Shipley, JCH for one of the strikers. If Bayliss is having another off day bring on Westbrooke.

I'll go for 3-1 win if Kelly's playing, nervy 2-1 if not.

The new signing from Wolves will probably get a run out

Hopefully, always like seeing the new players get a debut. More often than not is an anti climax but even so

Considering the number of players we've used in the last 17 years, a debut is a pretty regular occurrence, not like it was years ago. We've probably had over 11 players making a debut at some point in every season for a while, be it new signings, youth players or loanees.

Kelly for Doyle, Bright for Shipley. The latter may seem rash or harsh on Shipley, but if he’s an attacking winger he needs to start; we’re at home, we need a win to stay around the play offs and, most importantly, we look so much better when we actually attack.

I’ll be frustrated if he drops Hiwula for Bright.

2-0 City, Hiwula, Thomas.

I’d play:

Burge
Sterling
Willis
Hyam
Mason
Thomas
Kelly
Bayliss
Bright
Chaplin
Hiwula

Home game versus a struggling team, we really ought to win, hopefully by 2+ goals. But, it wouldn’t surprise me if we ended up drawing or losing this one.

I'd guess the last year we didn't was the year we got relegated from the championship? Although the kids making their debuts that year might increase it.

Yet to beat AFC Wimbledon in the league, the last three league games were 0-0 (away 18/19) 1-1 (away 16/17) and 2-2 (home 16/17) with our first meeting in the FA Cup a 3-1 win away (13/14)

We beat Wimbledon quite a few times back in the top flight mind and in Division 1 before they created the franchise in MK.

Yes, tho personally I cannot count them previous games however for the record the Wimbledon of old you have to go back 10 games to December 1998 at Selhurst Park for the last time Wimbledon defeated CCFC. We did well against them.

They're a tough physical side and I'd be tempted to bring Davies in to cope with the chaos at the back. We're all hoping Kelly is fit to play.

Doesn't matter anyway, we've been allocated Wimbledon as a team to draw with this season, 1-1.
