Anyone else watch it?

Couldn't quite know what to make of it and thought it was trying to be far too 'witty' at times, but Jodie Cromer is fantastic in it.

Enjoyed it, bit random at times, like you say, tried a bit hard. Will keep with it, as a Saturday night thing. Didn't make me want binge on I Player.

It's got Thandie Newton lite in it.

Thinking about it, Thandie Newton would have done such a much better job me thinks. No offence to Sandra Oh, but I couldn't quite buy into her character at times.

It could be a great show if they cut out the constant attempts at humour in every scene. Feels forced.

Still worth a watch though. Got a very good cast.

Its based of a series of Novellas from Luke Jennings and it’s supposed to be a spoof Bond with female characters. I haven’t seen it but it would a guess be more original Casino Royale that anything else

Yeah, probably correct.

Definitely has that spoofy kind of feel to it.

Jodie Comer is brilliant. Always thought she was a good actress, but in this she gets the chance to really go to town and take on multiple personalities.

I skyboxed it ( story of the Gettys) - sadly not the French heavy rock band - check out Mesrine -

I thought you meant the character played by Vincent Cassel, one of my favourite actors in Public Enemy .
While googling to clarify my memory came across some images and I hope he's ok as he's looking very drawn and without most of his hair but has just remarried
I guess it's that phenomenon of screen icons never ageing.

I saw a feature on this morning breakfast news show
It's been huge in America and up for awards.

Just the last episode to watch now - I'm loving in, random bit of humour in it which I think works very well. Definitely recommend a watch! Plus Jodie Comer is not too shabby!

Killing Eve? I thought this thread was about a new day in the year. Like Christmas Eve, New Years Eve etc. I thought this the day before the day you can go round killing people! Like in "Purge"?

I've watched all but the final episode now. To be honest, its not in the same league as Bodyguard / Doctor Foster etc. But if you haven't seen it beyond the normal weekly episodes, it's fucking brilliant.

Watched the first one late last night
Bloody brilliant
Bodyguard have only joined in last week
But something's slightly lacking for me
A bit formulaic which is ok but the female detective seems a bit flat and wooden and he's not fully convincing
Maybe it's me but I think the acting could be better
More edgy and demonstrative .

Just finished the second episode and though Jodie Comer is brilliant, I am just finding the thing okay and a bit smarmy.

For all its faults, I am enjoying Bodyguard so much more.

Think what it boils down to for me is that I find Sandra Oh's character a bit annoying and irritating at times and I really, really hate the hesitant, stuttering stuff she delivers and then also I am finding the humour a little too forced.

I haven't laughed once yet in the two episodes, but get the feeling that if I saw the script I would indeed find it funny and amusing.

Just comes across to me that the characters at times are telegraphing to you 'And now I am going to say something funny'.

It's still an enjoyable journey, but it's not something that has me scrambling for the remote and waiting in anticipation.

If it wasn't for Jodie Comer's performance I don't think I would watch it. She is the glue that holds it all together.

Would love to see Olivia Coleman or Thandie Newton in the Eve role. Think that would totally change the dynamics for me.

Really? Don't understand how you can say that, as she plays so many different characters and in so many differing styles.

Her facial expressions are brilliant too I would say. It's something I study and have learnt through acting myself and through my daughter's tuition.

I think she is great. When it's OTT it's deliberately so and what I believe the director is wanting from her.

Her facial expressions came from the Roger Moore style of acting. She’s about as convincing a Russian Assassin as Bobby Ball would be as Jack Reacher.

Miscasting I think.

Cast generally isn’t very good. David haig is an accomplished actor and it showed.

Yes, I like David Haig.

I just didn't buy into Sandra Oh's characterisation and if you can't do that it makes for difficult viewing.

I know she's won awards for it, but for me on a personal level, I just couldn't buy into her as credible.

Her characterisation is far truer to the books than the assassin is

Not read the books.

I just find her delivery annoying. Just gets to me and when she was doing her stuttering and hesitant little speech last night I wanted to punch a hole in the telly. :)

Some you warm to, others irritate you like hell.

It's interesting on Darren Boyd too. In some things I think his acting has been awful, yet in other shows I have been mightily impressed.

Yeah, but I am only going into analytical mode because I am not enjoying at as I think I should be and also the great reviews had me wondering why I wasn't so much, too.

Some things I can just watch and if I am thoroughly enjoying them I let the programme just do exactly that and bathe in it and don't think about it too much. The stuff I tend to analyse the most is the stuff that I think I should be liking, but am not.

I am though also analysing the likes of Bodyguard just a little, because sometimes some things are ridiculous and immediately have you wondering about plausibility.

Of course you are correct. It’s a fun programme - almost like a 70’s Lew Grade series but with a far more glamorous cast. To be honest the preview highlights put me off. It’s a lot more fun that they suggest. It’s ham acting but it’s a good laugh.

How is he correct? Ha! What nonsense.

I didn't buy into it and that lead me to then analyse it.

They is no right or wrong, correct or incorrect. It depends on the individual watching.

What you mean is that it is correct for Wingy.
