the level of bitching and infighting among fans on the forum already is unreal...

Trying to prove each other wrong, playing down our signings and formation etc two matches into the season. It’s just crazy!!!

Teams can lose the first couple of matches and go on to win the league & conversely teams can piss the first half a dozen matches and fade away to nothing ( we know this better than many right? )

MR has pretty much rebuilt the whole side , with new signings in almost every position. And a few of his key players are yet to even kick a ball through injury!! To try and prove any opinion at this stage of the season is madness , and counter productive to the positive energy we should be pushing into the team.

Short and simple , nothing is won or lost or proven right or wrong at this stage of the season. Surely McNulty showed us all that’s the case last season...So why not put the “one upmanship” bitching to one side and just get behind the team and manager , and save our keyboard battles until after Xmas at least!!

Come on, we are all city fans.

Great OP. I find myself falling into the “I told you so” posts and biting at other posters and then as soon as I read my posts back in the thread a bit later I’m embarrassed. What does it matter!

Most of us do get behind the team, and yes we all want the same for the club to be successful,my only grievance so far this season is not really replacing McNulty, but saying that our new strikers could well turn out to be gems too, especially Hiwula, but we do have a good goal scorer in Ponticelli but i think he will be loaned out, which is a shame. Its was a good point yesterday and hopefully a win next week.

Definitely I don't understand how we can have so much negativity. I'm certain another striker is going to join on loan who will be more of a natural finisher. We have Jones and Allassani to come back from injury which will add much more pace to our team. I cant wait to see Jones because he could be the best winger in the league. Keep the faith and trust in Robins.

A belated welcome to Sky Blues Talk, sir.

Agreed, but that’s not what I said or what the post was about

I read the key points that weren’t related to the actual performance of the team as it’s too early to know how it’s going to go either way and it sounded like you were saying we should get on as ‘come on we are all city fans’. Maybe I misread.

I thought it was. At least, that's the way I read it.

Nope, it was about the general negativity & bitching 2 Weeks into a new season, in a new league, with a new team... and the fact that some are using that negativity to try and score one upmanship. Im saying it’s far to early for that.

I was at an away game at Brentford 4 years ago, when the guy next to me was vein bustingly apoplectic about how bad we were, to the extent that I thought he would have a seizure and we would have to call an ambulance. For the life of me I could not work why he had driven 2 hours to get there to spew hatred toward his own team for 90 minutes and then drive 2 hours back. And then do it again two weeks later and so on. We led or were level for most of the game, Brentford were above us.
Then I began listening to football phone ins and it all became clear....
A good proportion of football fans are f*****g certifiable
You can see that on here, mentioning no names

If you dig deep enough, I'm pretty sure you'll find posters on here who fully demand that we should already be 9 points clear of the chasing pack....

You mean we aren't? Get the smoke bombs

You are right though, people need to deal with their expectations

Just because we are all city fans doesn’t mean we have to actually like or agree with each other.
Go on please tell who.

I think a good number of people enjoy the opportunity to leave respectable family/community/professional life behind, step into the confines of a football ground, and spout utter bile / venom for 90 minutes just to get the aggression and anger out of their system. They probably spend much of the week calmly sucking up stuff they hate, then expunge it on a Saturday every time Liam Kelly passes the ball out of play. I was at a game (Crewe home, last home game of the 2015-16 season, where we got thrashed despite needing only a point to be safe) when the bloke behind me were going absolutely apoplectic - when we conceded he just bellowed the C-word repeatedly, with increasing volume and frequency, about 20 times. Then at half time there was a kickabout game for two teams of young players with disabilities and that particular charmer piped up with "these fuckers would be better than that lot what just went off for half time, can't be no worse." Pent up aggression, pure and simple.

Limited to that, it's annoying if relatively harmless; the real ones to worry about are those who do it whilst watching their kids playing in parks fooball, calling the ref a C-bomb, squaring up to other parents, yelling abuse at the kids and generally acting like complete utter impotents.

Why wouldn’t they ?

You can stuff the Beatles...the only Fab Four who rocked my world as a kid was The A-Team.

Why wouldn’t they ?

Because they are all younger than us with their phone in their hands enjoying looking at their mates breakfast or latest pair of trainers that they have posted . Different world Brylowes good luck to them, just remember the music we used to listen to our parents said was s..t deja vu

Who would have thought that one loss and one draw could kill feel good factor of promotion

Ridiculous
It's not dead but clearly it doesn't take much for the natives to start having a little moan. Frankly it was ever thus.
