That's bollocks.

The bloke gets extended leave and still rocks up to the training camp late, that's inexcusable.

He was poor again tonight and lacked any final product. The dive was also embarrassing.

He might have score a few tap ins but is shocking for England and not what we need. The race card is not needed here.

He has been houbded by media more than any other englabd player

Stories of how dare he have breakfast after a loss

How dare he shop at primark if hes rich

Calling him a love rat. Giving him a reputation

Bought his mum a nice sink. What a bastard

And a magnificent season at city. Not a few tap ins

That gun tattoo is shit though whatever his reason for getting it.

Not that I get his story 'my Dad got shot and I said I'd never touch a gun so I've had one tattooed on my leg as a tribute'.

No i don't either. Surely would of been more decent of him to have his Dads face tattooed on his leg ?

Maybe because he has been consistently a twat for his entire career, and doesn't show any signs of growing up?

Nothing to do with racism. Give it a rest.

Whether England come first or second in their group, they'll be meeting teams from Group H, probably Colombia or Poland, maybe Senegal.
The only concern with any of those teams is that Poland have Lewandowski who should scare anyone.
Of course we may not come first or second in our group, all three teams we face are potential banana-skins.

Having Irish parents I've always supported the Republic and never had much interest in England. The plastic football fans I work with seem to think they have a genuine chance of winning it.

Decent first half, second half was dire once Nigeria showed up.
Southgate shoehorning players in and playing too many players out of the position they play for their clubs. Hasn't worked for the last 5 England managers and won't work for him. What does Lingard bring to the team? Gets picked as he plays for United but so reminds me me of Tom Cleverly. Looks good at club level because of the players around him.
Yesterday played Walker as centre half, played all season as full/wing back, Dele Alli as a deep midfielder played most of the season as an attacking midfielder, Stirling played as a 10 but played as a winger all season, Kane played more as a 10 yesterday constantly dropping deep to link up play with his back to goal. For Spurs he plays as the focal point and occupy's the centre backs. So that's most of the spine of the team not really playing in their correct positions.
Not for me.

I'm looking forward to this now.....so much so that I need to re-tune my workshop telly so it can actually get ITV.......

I would like to see England do well but wouldn't be surprised (or bothered) to see them fail to escape their easy group.

Shame the Italians & Dutch aren't there......doesn't seem right but there ya go......

Maybe we are all a bit too premature in judging others?

If his reasoning is to do with shooting with that foot...that makes sense...& then maybe he has since thought about the irony - or maybe he had already thought of it?

More concerning is Gareth Southgate suggesting his eligibility as a role-model for youngsters? His history of 'diving' (cheating) & some off-field antics suggest he is anything BUT. Especially when he gets booked the very next game FOR DIVING!!! If Gareth judges a player's worth so accurately - we might have an even worse outcome this tournament!

On the other hand, his drive and work ethic got him to the best team in the country and kept him in the team so there's a lot about Sterling that kids could do well to look up to, despite whatever flaws he may have. Certainly rather him than the feckless idiots on any number of reality shows that are all over the rest of the media.

Yes, cant disagree with the hard work ethic. Maybe he just needs to grow up & appreciate his impact or simply change his attitude away from the training ground...'coz even diving/cheating is pretty much unacceptable

Kids look up to these so called superstars and with all the murders involving youngsters around the country going on i just think its a daft thing to do.

I think a lot of off-field stuff goes away with most players as they grow up, but yeah I'd definitely like to see the diving knocked right on the head ASAP. Him and Dele Alli in particular, less of this kind of thing boys.

This World Cup could be huge for Sterling. If he’s on it, and keeps improving, he can be anything he wants.
He’s made a few mistakes but I’m pretty sure he’ll be a better player with everyone behind him rather than knocking him.
Good luck to the kid.
Sadly that view doesn't sell newspapers.
